One of the things quilters like to participate in is something called a "Block of the Month" (or, BOM). Each month, you get fabric and make a block - sometimes more than one - from the pattern chosen for that month. Sometimes, you make the same block, but you have different fabrics to use - it all depends on how it's set up.
Well, while I was surfing around on the FabShopHop, I came across a wonderful store which had this gorgeous BOM! The store is called Charlotte's Sew Natural, and is full of terribly tempting things for quilters.
Charlotte has set up this BOM so that each month you'll make a wall hanging size quilt, and - if you choose Option 2 - enough fabric to make extra blocks so you can assemble another scrappy quilt (on the right) at the end of the year.
The Beloved Husband said "Go for it!" (he's very supportive - just another reason why he's also the Best Husband in the Universe™!), and so I signed up - under Option 2, of course.
That was last Friday - and the next day, while I was at the cattle auction, my dear blog-sister the Red Queen called me and said she was going to sign up, too. Hooray! Therefore, I expect we'll both be posting pictures of our monthly quilts, and doing some lovely quilt-gossipping back and fourth. I'm very excited about it, and I'm looking forward to all the fun RQ and I will have doing this together!
