I was on the phone with Kender as I was looking through thes pictures, and he made the very astute comment that these demonstrators are effectively protesting against their right to ... freely protest.
Obviously we're a few Doritoes short of a full bag.
My comment in return was that what this protester really meant was that freedom for everyone else could go to hell.
Folks, let's try to remain in some semblence of valid reality, OK?
Ah, now, here we have a wonderful example of the peace and tolerance preached by Islam.
Don't you just long to live in a country governed by Sharia law? Don't you want to be ruled by a theocracy which demands blood for every slight, no matter how innocent?
Do you know what these fanatics remind me of? Two year olds. As a matter of fact, they remind me of two year olds in the worst throes of the "terrible twos," who have never had any sort of discipline from their parents, but instead have gotten their way every single time, and who have therefore become truly horriffic little brats. You know, the kind of child you'd like to strangle on sight, but don't, because you belong to a civilized culture that doesn't murder bratty kids.
Of course, these are hardly "kids." No, they're (chronologically, at least) adults who are "preaching hate," who are "bigoted," "intolerant," "fascist," "thugs," and "non-inclusive."
Hm. Now where have I heard those epithets before? Oh, yes, of course! Our loving, tolerant, LLLefties use them every day against President Bush and all his minions. Our dear, kind, accepting LLLefties will not presume, however, to describe the soi-disant "Religion of Peace" with such harsh criticism, even when faced with evidence like this.
And then, of course, come the threats.
"Because you aren't doing what we tell you, because we're not willing to live and let live, because we're so selfish and narrow-minded, because we will not accept anyone who thinks differently than we do...
"We're going to kill you."
Oh, yeah. That's the kind of "Ol' Time Religion" that *I* want to submit to!
Somehow, I'm sure that the silence coming from CAIR, Muslim Americans, European Muslims, Saudi Arabia, etc., etc., will be either a) deafening, or b) very similar to how Robin Williams described the UN once: "Like a traffic cop on valium, yelling, 'Stooooop!'"

I really admire Michelle Malkin. She has graced this site with many an appreciated link. And I know she puts up with a lot of garbage from the leftward fever swamps.Which is why it pains me to say how disappointed I am with her latest post. From my small little niche in the blogosphere I have tried to alert folks to the fact that we need to be setting an example to the moderate Muslims how to deal with ugly free speech. The best way is to dismiss hate speech and marginalize it. Not one of the best ways is to get in an escalating yelling match
AJ, I understand where you're coming from, really - I Do.. But the events of the past several years tell me that these nutcases take no quarter: Why the heck should we offer it to them? This totalitarian, intolerant (in the proper, classical definition) worldview has no place in a world interested in peace and mutual respect. This type of mindset is anathema to the peace process.
Yeah, I know, freedom of and all that..... But there are some things that are beyond the pale of any civilized agenda, and this is one of them.
