With the photographic assistance of the Darling Munchkin (which is why we have some very blurry photos, LOL)....
Yeah, this is what I've been ssssllllllooooooowwwwwwlllllyyyyy doing over the past, oh, ten days or so. I painted our little entryway as well (pictures not included), so I'm not a complete dead beat. One thing I *am* trying to do is build up lots and lots and LOTS of layers on the corners of high-traffic areas, if only for a little extra durability.
Yeah, yeah - anyone who's a professional/really good painter will tell me I'm doing it all wrong. So what? I'm doing it how *I* want to, and... *I'm* doing it! So there! ***pffft!*** LOL
(Pics below the fold, of course)
Here are a couple pictures of the general area I'm painting - I don't know why they're so dark: I turned on the flash in hopes that you'd see the difference in the areas I'd already cut in, and the primed areas. Oh, just so you know, this is a MODULAR home. We like it, it's nice (veryVERY solid), but it leaves a few things to be desired. The detail work is, um, poor... and the interior was only given a single, LIGHT primer coat on the sheetrock. Is that dumb, or what? Primer alone gets very dirty, very quickly, and it's almost impossible to clean off...
So, for those of you in the market for a modular home: BE PICKY ABOUT THE DETAILS!!!
Here's a shot of the hall enterance, and those corners into the hallway are one place I'm doing that build up of paint for durability.
That fireplace is a lot of fun for the cutting in (NOT!), but fortunately for me, the "stone" is about 1/8-inch off the drywall, so my brush can get fairly close.
I have done some boo-boos, though, so I'm trying to figure out how to scrub them off. But.... y'all would have to c'mon over and really EXAMINE it to see the ooopsies. Perhaps I ought to take a hint from quilting and do the "galloping horse rule:" if it can't be seen from 3 yards away from a galloping horse... it doesn't count! LOL
And here's where the Munchkin couldn't stop giggling as she documented my adventures in painting, so please excuse the blur! LOL
Oh, and a last one to REALLY show all my fans what a strange and bizarre person I truly am, *giggle!*
OOOOoooooo! Scary! LOLOLOLOL!
