The Ladies of the Cotillion have gotten together to enjoy a good round of gossip and tell-all adventures. Raven put together thirty questions and posted them on our forum, and several of us (including me - hey! I get to talk about ME!!! - of course I jumped on board!). I believe that Cassandra will be doing the round up, which means it will be elegant and witty, and is planning on posting it next Tuesday.
So... Here we go!
1. What time did you get up this morning? Somewhere between 6:30 or 7am. I cannot believe that I don't sleep in longer - I suppose I'm still in the "must drive Munchkin to school" mode. Maybe during the summer I'll use this time to exercise... Maybe.
2. Diamonds or pearls? Neither. Sapphires!
3. What was the last film you saw at the movie house? Oh... Um... Lord of the Rings: Return of the King? No, I must have seen something more recently... Oh! Yes: Chronicles of Narnia: the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. We don't go to movies much...
4. What is your favorite TV show? Oh, lots! Farscape, John Doe, Doctor Who, historical/scientific documentaries... But often the ones I really love end up cancelled too soon. Darn you SciFi Channel!!! I have never watched any of the "reality" shows, including American Idol. Blech. As you see, I prefer the sci-fi stuff, if written well, and I adore learning things from Discovery, National Geographic, the History Channel and so on.
5. What did you have for breakfast? Not much of a breakfast person, unless I'm on vacation. At home, a mocha espresso (yes, I have my own Krups espresso machine - I love it) suffices. If I'm feeling extravagant, I eat cereal (Captain Crunch with Crunchberries!) or an egg. I like to cook breakfast for my husband, though - he usually likes an egg over easy with ham and cheese.
6. What is your middle name? Torrance, after my paternal grandmother's maiden name.
7. What is your favorite cuisine? Sushi. I am ALWAYS ready for sushi. But I love Thai, Pacific Rim Cuisine, and steaks, too!
8. What foods do you dislike? Brussel sprouts, liver, fried food (generally), and green bell peppers
9. What kind of car do you drive? 2003 Ford Explorer V8, Eddie Bauer edition. And I *LOVE* it!

10.Favorite Sandwich? It's hard to say... I like BLTs, PB&Js, grilled cheese, "gourmet" sandwiches with brie and cranberry jam... But, except for the BLT, I prefer to have alfalfa sprouts rather than lettuce for the "dressing"
11. What characteristic do you despise? Arrogance and rudeness. An inconsiderate person will make me want to smack them faster than just about anything.
12. Favorite item of clothing? Jeans and t-shirt! Unless you're talking about jammies, then they have to be flannel bottoms and a way oversized t-shirt. Cuddle clothes, y'know?
13. If you could go anywhere in the world for a holiday where would you go?
14. What color is your bathroom? Pretty much white. But we're planning on remodelling, so it could change. I have only recently dipped into "colorizing" my house, so I'm much more used to "And what shade of white would you like, ma'am?" And, no, that is NOT my bathroom!

15. Favorite brand of clothing? Actually, if I'm feeling dressy - which is rarely - I like Talbots and Chicos. Go figure.
16. Where would you like to retire? Right where I am.
17. Favorite time of the day? I love sunsets. I also love sun rises, but they're just too early in the day for me!! The beautiful colors and the glory of these times of day remind me of the God Who has given them to us. All this beauty cannot be by chance!
18.What was your most memorable birthday? Our first year married, we were stationed in southern Spain in Rota. We lived off base that first year, and our house had a little gate we had to open and close to get our cars in and out. It was only, oh, 10 yards from our front door. I came home the evening of my 23rd (?) birthday, the gate was open, there were other cars there, the lights were on all through the house... I didn't figure out it was a "Surprise Party" until I walked in the door... (TOLD you I can be clueless, LOL)... Wonderful, fun, lovely party! Thanks again to my Beloved Husband, the Best Husband in the Universe™!!!!
19. Where were you born? Greenwich, CT. But I quickly overcame that handicap...
20. Favorite sport to watch? "Sports?" What are they? OK, I kid... I love watching horse sports: jumping, event jumping...
21. What are you wearing right now? WARNING: I blog nekkid! NSFW!!!... In other words, "Clothes? What's that?" (Hey, I live in the country on 18 acres of private land - you think I'm gonna dress up just for YOU?!)
22. What star sign are you? Astrology is an idiot's game... But if you really want to know: I'm a PMSing Scorpio. Don't mess with me: I'll hurt you.
23. What fabric detergent do you use? I need to use a completely no-allergy-reactions detergent, and I use Shaklee's Basic-L. I love it! It doesn't make me sneeze, my skin doesn't break out, and it blasts through stains like blood with noooo problem!
24. Pepsi or Coke? *Bah!* Forget 'em both! 7-UP!!!
25. Are you a morning person or a night owl? Neither... I like to wake up at about 7-8 a.m., and prefer to go to sleep somewhere between 9 and 11 p.m. Unless I have something to read which is completely engaging... in which case, I can read all night...
26. What is your shoe size? I wear a 6 1/2, usually... But I really need to always wear Dansko shoes. I broke my left ankle 12 years ago, and have screws and pins holding it together. The high (and I mean HIGH) and hard (VERY hard) arch in some of their clog/clog clones make my feet happy, happy! So, you will never see me in high heels or light strappy sandals. I want to be able to walk more than I want my feet to be pretty.
27. Do you have any pets? Two cats and one co-dependant husky - all female. My Beloved Hubby is the only guy in the house... Poor bay-bee! (And the puppy is the one pictured, 'cause I don't dog-blog, usually LOL)
28. Any new exciting news you'd like to share with your READERS (my substitution)? We're installing a pool! Have you checked out my pool-installation-blogging?
29. What did you want to be when you were little? I don't know... it was so long ago....
30. What are you meant to be doing today? I am meant to love my wonderful husband and my sweet daughter. I am meant to give snuggles and skritchies to our darling pets. I am meant to make our house a home. But, most of all, I am meant to love my God with all my mind, all my strength, all my heart and all my spirit. I am meant to shine His glory and grace though my life.
