Benny steps in it - AGAIN

Well, Ben Tribbett, of "Not Larry Sabato," climbed up on his high horse and roundly condemned the ODBA for "racist and jew-baiting" remarks last year (and, as Ward says, "Get your own link"). And then, he accuses United Conservatives blogger Flora McDonald of making racist remarks about Mrs. Obama:

Problem is, it wasn't Flora who posted that, but one of her co-bloggers, F22Strike. And, oh my gosh! He's also an african-american!!! You know, Benny, a simple flick of your eye would have saved you this bumble.

But Benny uses this as an excuse to refrain from condemning Joe-the-Jerk Stanley's attempt to smear the ODBA by associating us with N@MBL@ (see here, here, and here).

Goodness, I'd love to see the mental contortions he goes through to arrive at these rationalizations. I guess that's how he gets most of his exercise.

So, I left a comment:

Ben, if you want to climb up on your high horse, there's plenty of room to get indignant about both issues. Just because you prefer one wrongful action to another is no reason not to condemn the one YOU helped with.

Oh, and BTW, the ODBA has provided links and evidence for Joe Stanley's despicable action - and there is strong implication that YOU aided and abetted.

How about posting some links and evidence of ODBA's alleged racist and jew-baiting posts from last year? Just, you know, so we all know you're not talking out of your rear end.

And anon1:33pm, have you met F22Strike? I have. He's no "self hating african-american male." He is an intelligent, confident, and poised man who tells it like it is. It's too bad that you let his race color your perception of his opinion. Pot, meet kettle?

Why is it that when someone from inside the "oppressed minority" points out some truth that goes against the "oppressed" stereotype, he or she is immediately labeled "self hating" or a "traitor"? That sort of response only takes attention off the proper issue... Oh, wait! That's right, y'all can't argue the issue, so you set up straw men.

And Ben, if F22Strike were a racist, he would have claimed that Mrs. Obama was superior to Sen. Clinton, because african-americans are superior to caucasians. Let's do, please, get our terms correct. After, of course, making sure that you're accusing the right person.

Of course, I find it quite ironic that when Benny posted the link back to Whackette's post about Joe Stanley's redirect of the domain, he commented "Yuck." He also said "I'm outraged, and this needs to stop right away."

Guess he means that he's only outraged when he thinks he and his bosom-buddy won't get caught resorting to such underhanded and unethical tactics...

"NLS - You have truly managed to shock me and I've pretty much seen it all. Cat, Good listing of DirtyJoeys clients but you might want to add Adam Tomer over in Danville. Just watch and see if Tomer doesn't have problems galore also.

While everyone is talking about the Roscoe Reynolds/Joey Stanley link, they are missing the DirtyJoey/Dirty Eric Ferguson brotherhood. Stanley has been working for Eric Ferguson for over three years now,buying up domain names of Eric’s possible opponents and redirecting them to Eric’s site. Isn’t that trying to denying the public the right to know about candidates for public office ? Joey parks himself in Ferguson’s office daily, managing his campaign for the house and reportedly going over the line regularly in the campaign.
Ferguson has known about this practice for years and condoned it and Joey’s other mean spirited campaign tactics.
This most recent escapade is most probably a crime and I hear attorneys are looking into the law now of it being a conspiracy if NLS was knowingly a part of the redirection of the OBDA site to the NAMBLA site. If NLS conspired to get the link discovered, it is clearly covered under Virginia law. Look for law enforcement officials to begin investigation next week and the Roanoke times is heavy on the trail we hear. NLS has been down to Rocky Mount to consult/conspire a number of times and certainly since DirtyJoey bought the website name.
DirtyJoey/Dirty Eric have had previous brushes with lawsuits in prior campaigns and this time they and NLS have stepped over the line. How long will it take Roscoe/Ferguson/Tomer to cut the cord to Dirty Joey ?

These are extremely interesting assertions, and I was wondering if you could provide links to particular domains Joey is cybersquatting, maybe some news articles, and so on? If your allegations are true, *I* certainly would like to post about them, especially considering that Tomer is in my back yard (so to speak).

The hypocrisy here is astounding. Mr. Tribbett tries to claim the moral high ground by playing the race card, yet he scoffs at the standard of truth.

For the record (and I'm going to post this comment in all of my recent posts about the Joe Stanley/N@MBL@ thing):

I notice that Ben over at NLS takes issue with my use of "whoreson" and "jackass" among other words I use to describe Stanley. Originally, I used "whoreson" as an alternative to "bastard" when I saw it over at thesaurus.com. I considered it rather medieval and more original than the frequently-used "bastard."

However, when one of the other ODBA members pointed out to me that Joe's mother was deceased, I immediately came back, struck the word and apologized in each instance I used it. I honestly do not want to malign the dead. I did not completely remove it, because I felt that would be too much like "diappearing" a mistake which I believe is unethical.

I stand by "jackass" and other words, because Stanley's foul attempt to smear the ODBA deserve that condemnation in my opinion.

I do truly regret using "whoreson" in reference to Stanley, and if he wishes me to apologize to him in writing for that particular insult, I will do so willingly.
