Blossom, my dear, darling - and TOUGH! - Dell Inspiron 1525 is getting a new operating system as I type. I'm currently on my ancient Vaio - the one that didn't brick itself just over a year ago - while installing Linux Ubuntu on my baby.
The little Vaio (she's five or six years old) is humming happily along using Linux Mint, and I think Blossom is the last of our computers to be switched over from a Windows system... I meant to do it immediately when Blossom arrived, but the Beloved Hubby wasn't home to hold my hand through it, and I chickened out.
So, last night the Beloved Hubby backed up my hard drive, and now *I'm* installing Ubuntu! It's very easy, and I was silly to wuss out last year ;-) After all, our almost-13-year-old daughter has been happily using Linux for the past six months, so her ol' mom can't let the young whipper-snapper get too far ahead, LOL!
Anyway, I expect that I'll be tweaking Blossom's new OS to my preferences in just a little while. And the next time you "see" me, I'll be a Linux convert!
