Sarah Palin's class and grace emphasize the petty depravity of Letterman

I am so glad that I never watched Letterman! If I had years of this bitter, unfunny drivel cluttering up my brain, I'm sure that I would be a brain-dead liberal, too.

Here is Gov. Palin's gracious and self-effacing response to Letterman's arrogant slander:

Classy, classy lady! It would be an honor to shake her hand. Letterman, of course, would get the disdainful cold shoulder, which is more than a cad like him deserves.

David Letterman: hypocrite, sexist, mysogynist and pervert.

I won't go into detail. Many other people have provided plenty of coverage about the twisted, vicious "humor" of this despicable cretin.

I think that Gov. Sarah Palin says it best:

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin took a second swipe at David Letterman on Wednesday, calling the CBS “Late Show” host’s jokes about one of her daughters “disgusting” and “sexually perverted.”

In an e-mailed statement, the Republican governor said: “Laughter incited by sexually perverted comments made by a 62-year-old male celebrity aimed at a 14-year-old girl is not only disgusting, but it reminds us some Hollywood/N.Y. entertainers have a long way to go in understanding what the rest of America understands— that acceptance of inappropriate sexual comments about an underage girl, who could be anyone's daughter, contributes to the atrociously high rate of sexual exploitation of minors by older men who use and abuse others.”

Will Letterman be censured? Nope. Certainly not by the feel-good protest warriors of leftist "feminists" or "child advocates."

He'll get a pass because he's one of their own, and one day in the future if a conservative makes a mild crack about the teenage hijinx Obama's teenage daughters might have gotten into, the whole sanctimonious and hypocritical left will have a mass case of the vapors.

Dear LORD, sometimes I hate - completely despise - what occasionally passes for humor and political discourse in this country...

Good stuff for a Thursday read

I've been neglecting CHC for a couple of days (although I have gotten a lot done around the house!), so I thought I'd put up a few links that have caught my interest...

Mike Reagan sums up my position on the murder of Tiller

Like others in the pro-life community, I found Tiller’s profession abhorrent and believed it appropriate to protest and criticize his actions. I am deeply ashamed that we live in a society that has legalized the destruction of innocent human life.

Yet no matter how fervent my objections to Tiller’s actions, my very pro-life beliefs spur me to denounce his killer, as well.

Indeed, I mourn for Tiller and his grieving family. As Dr.Martin Luther King reminded us, “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly.”

Teh One appears to have feet of clay - at least for some gay activists

Gay rights campaigners, most of them Democrats who supported Obama in November, have begun to voice their public frustration with Obama’s inaction, small jokes at their community’s expense and deafening silence on what they see as the signal civil rights issue of this era.

His most important campaign promises repealing the Defense of Marriage Act and the military ban on openly gay and lesbian service-members have not been fulfilled.

And the news, which emerged quietly earlier this year, that he’d supported same-sex marriage back in 1996, then changed his mind, especially rankles. As mainstream Democratic politicians such as Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) move to support same-sex marriage, gay rights advocates say that the barrier-breaking president looks increasingly odd for opposing what they see as full equality.

Tiananmen Square, twenty years later... I hope and pray that "Tank" Man is alive and well, and maybe that this generation of Chinese can continue the fight for freedom...

Tank Man — his identity has never been determined — shot to worldwide fame that day for stopping those tanks, hours after they had brutally crushed student-led protests on Beijing's Tiananmen Square. Hundreds — possibly thousands — died in the early-hours protest on June 4, 1989, an event that still remains a forbidden topic in Communist-governed China.

Pictures of Tank Man's courageous efforts and other information about the crackdown are still officially censored in China. But now, 20 years on, modern technology and the wide reach of social networking sites like Facebook are providing curious students with the information they were previously denied.

Is it really OK for Iran to have nuclear missiles, while at the same time the US CAN'T have nuclear power? Gotta love the hypocrisy....

Iran says it's developing nuclear power to generate electricity while it waits for the 12th Imam and the apocalypse to arrive. To hasten the process, however, it is using its nuclear knowledge to amass fissile material necessary to build a bomb. It's developing missiles to deliver that bomb, presumably somewhere in the heart of downtown Tel Aviv.

Our new administration is trying to talk them out of it, and the Iranians are quite willing to drag out the conversation as long as it takes to develop their nuclear weapon and the means to deliver it.

Some people positively parade their ignorance - "Baptism = Waterboarding"

An ancient Christian religious ritual is apparently comparable to a controversial interrogation technique, according to Joy Behar of ABC’s “The View.” On June 3, the hosts of “The View” were discussing the new reality show, “I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here,” where pampered “celebrities” are placed in a jungle in Costa Rica. “Hills” reality television star Spencer Pratt was baptized on the show and “The View” featured a clip from his baptism in a river.

Behar, of course, had to add in her usual quip. “Isn’t it like water boarding- when they dump your head under there like that?” Fellow host Elisabeth Hasselbeck quickly replied with, “no.”

Did President Obama get dissed? *snicker*

Finally, our pool has been open for a good three weeks already. This summer looks like it will be wonderful; not too dry and not too hot. So, that's all I have for now, and I really need to get caught up in my Bible reading [swats self]!

A "pivot"... That's the new word for "broke a promise," right?

How about as an alternate for "has no moral foundation, much less any principles"?

Brian Kirwin at Bearing Drift alerted me to the newest bit of idiocy from President Obama (and you do not KNOW how much more difficult it is getting to NOT use some of the disrespectful and rude nicknames I have for Obama....)

President Obama, in a pivot from a campaign promise, told Democratic senators Tuesday that he is willing to consider taxing employer-sponsored health benefits to help pay for a broad expansion of coverage.

Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus, D-Mont., said Obama expressed a willingness to consider changing the existing tax exclusion. The decision probably would anger liberal supporters such as labor unions, but such a tax change would raise enormous sums of money as Congress and the White House struggle to find the estimated $1.2 trillion needed to pay for an overhaul of health care over the next decade.

Yeah, that's the completely unbiased and totally non-partisan Seattle Slimes oops Times.

A "pivot."

You know, if the tone-deaf and too-comfortable-on-their-asses... persons... in Washington DC would actually STOP SPENDING MONEY WE DON'T HAVE... Ah, no... why bother? The sheeple want their free money, and so the government will write more and more bad checks while trying to extort more "revenue" out of the pockets of those of us who actually work and produce goods and services...

Socialism looms close on the horizon, and the destruction of this wonderful country cannot be far behind.

I will give the Seattle Times some props, though - here's the last sentence in their article:

Nevertheless, the issue represents treacherous politics for Obama, given his attacks on Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., who advocated a similar approach during the campaign. [emph. mine]

Kindred Hospital in Mansfield, TX, is anti-free speech and unpatriotic

I got this link from my friend Scott on his Facebook page:

Is it okay to show your patriotism at the office?

For one Arlington woman, the answer was "no" after she hung an American flag in her office just before the Memorial Day weekend.

Debbie McLucas is one of four hospital supervisors at Kindred Hospital in Mansfield. Last week, she hung a three-by-five foot American flag in the office she shares with the other supervisors.

When McLucas came to work Friday, her boss told her another supervisor had found her flag offensive. "I was just totally speechless. I was like, 'You're kidding me,'" McLucas said.

Some ignorant and intolerant... person... was offended by the display of a flag for Memorial Day weekend?!

McLucas said the supervisor who complained has been in the United States for 14 years and is formerly from Africa. McLucas said the supervisor took down Debbie's flag herself.

This ... person...  has been in America for 14 years, enjoying the hospitality, liberty and prosperity of America, and is OFFENDED at the display of the flag?

I have one thing to say: GET OUT.

As for the craven cowardice displayed by the admin department of the hospital, I would suggest that you call (817) 473-6101, ask for Administration, and offer them your thoughts. Firmly, politely - but very decisively.

(UPDATE: Scott has posted full contact details on his blog...)

UPDATE 2.0 - A David Inman, supposedly from Kindred has posted a comment at Scott's -

Kindred Hospital Mansfield has a great deal of appreciation for the service that many of our employees and their families have given to their country. We honor our veterans and active military through a variety of benefits and service programs. This was an isolated incident between two employees that we are working to resolve amicably. Both employees have family members who have served in the military. The disagreement was over the size of the flag and not what it symbolized. We have invited the employee to put the flag back up. We share their love of country and we appreciate the service of their family members as well as all members of the armed forces.

And NBC Dallas confirmed the facts stated in that comment.

Nevertheless, even if this is an office kerfuffle, the management should not have caved so readily. AND the supervisor who took it down behaved childishly. I still would like to know whether that person is a citizen or not...

Cooper Levy-Baker: Portrait of a leftist libtard

Here's his 15 seconds of brainless burbling, and here is LindaSoG's reasoned refutation of his "charges" against Chrissie.

I'm going to reprint here the comment I left at Chrissie's blog on Linda's post:

I can't believe that anyone would be so cruel to Chrissie! I have never met her in person, but she is the sweetest, kindest and most generous lady in the world!

When I was down in Orlando for my Mom's second knee replacement surgery, Crissie tracked me down just so she could offer me encouragement and prayer. She was insistent that if I needed ANYTHING, I was to call her and she'd do whatever she could to help out.

I cannot imagine any leftist turd having such a generosity of spirit paired with a loving and humble attitude, and this idiot, Cooper, does nothing to change my mind.

Chrissie, I'm sending lots of hugs and prayer, and if you need ANYTHING, it would be my honor and joy to return the wonderful kindness you gave to me!

Love and hugz, my friend; don't let the turkeys get you down. After all, as my Mom might say, "Consider the source!" ;-)

This is yet another example of how the left is all for free speech - so long as you agree with them. They cannot tolerate anyone breaking out of the stereotypes or changing for the better without becoming a victim dependent on government handouts.  God forbid you should be a minority woman and a conservative (like Michelle Malkin, who has had to move because a libtard published her home address) or a gay conservative (they'll out you, you know - they have no respect for your privacy if you don't toe their line), or a black conservative (don't you know you're an Uncle Tom if you stray off the liberal plantation?)

Stay strong, Chrissie - you've got lots of friends who love you and respect you.

Including me.

I love it when they take the bait...

Here's the bait...

... of course, I only GOT a wee little minnow. But isn't it amusing to see them twist and turn and fling ad hominem poo? [UPDATE: Oh, excuse me (NOT!) TWO minnows...]

What characterizes a looney, liberal, barking moonbat? Intolerance and a definite lack of humor, most particularly about themselves.

Well, I can satisfy myself that they're working themselves into an ulcer and a life of crippled, mean-spirited hate, twisted in upon themselves.

Me, I think I'm going to go laugh and live life and enjoy my family.

"Earth Hour"? AS IF....!

I think that tonight, I'm going to follow Trace Adkins' "advice..."

Every light in the house is on
The backyards bright as the crack of dawn
The front walk looks like runway lights
Its kinda like noon in the dead of night
Every light in the house is on
Just in case you ever do get tired of being gone
Every light in the house is on

Seriously. I am going to turn on every light, plug something in to as many sockets as possible, turn BOTH of my ovens on, the TVs and the stereo will be blasting... Oh, there's gonna be a GRAND ol' parTAY here at the CatHouse tonight.

"Earth Hour."

PFFFT! Those bleeding heart eco-freaks make me nauseous...

The GIVE Act - opens door to slavery AND violates First Amendment! (UPDATED)

The other day, I posted about HR1388, also known as the GIVE Act, and pointed out that it opens the door to "voluntary" MANDATORY service - an oxymoron (emphasis on MORON) if I ever read one.  UPDATE: I've corrected that post; I got my links mixed up, and section 6104, while in the original referred to the House, does NOT appear in the final version sent to the Senate.

Well, now look at Section 125: {UPDATE: The link on http://thomas.loc.gov is not permanent, so you'll have to go here and then click into one of the text-of-bill links to find section 125}

(a) Prohibited Activities- A participant in an approved national service position under this subtitle may not engage in the following activities:

     (1) Attempting to influence legislation.

     (2) Organizing or engaging in protests, petitions, boycotts, or strikes.

     (3) Assisting, promoting, or deterring union organizing.

     (4) Impairing existing contracts for services or collective bargaining agreements.

     (5) Engaging in partisan political activities, or other activities designed to influence the outcome of an election to any public office.

     (6) Participating in, or endorsing, events or activities that are likely to include advocacy for or against political parties, political platforms, political candidates, proposed legislation, or elected officials.

     (7) Engaging in religious instruction, conducting worship services, providing instruction as part of a program that includes mandatory religious instruction or worship, constructing or operating facilities devoted to religious instruction or worship, maintaining facilities primarily or inherently devoted to religious instruction or worship, or engaging in any form of religious proselytization.

For a refresher, here is the full text of the First Amendment (link has the full Bill of Rights):

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

So, let's break it down a little, shall we:

  • Prohibiting the free expression of religion? Check.
  • Prohibiting the freedom of speech? Check.
  • Prohibiting the right of peaceful assembly? Check and check (both for political AND religious reasons - nice double play there, you anti-constitutional buffoons!)
  • Prohibiting the right to petition the government for redress of grievances? Check.

As you can see, the seventh point really burns my gut. And I know, I know, some of you anti-American, anti-freedom, anti-Constitution liberal lunatics out there will say, "Oh, that's just for MANDATORY religious services!" Nope. Sorry. That word applies only to the phrase "providing instruction as part of a program that includes mandatory religious instruction or worship," not the rest of that paragraph.

So, programs run by Prison Fellowship and Alcoholics Anonymous, for instance, would be on the list of activities which are likely to be prohibited.

Congress is pushing this law through - not private citizens or private businesses or private organizations. CONGRESS.

So, where are the liberal moonbats and their screams of censorship and suppression?

[crickets chirping]

Yeah, I thought so.

Time to make sure we're stocked up, and to triple polish the guns, folks. We just might be getting into the Second Revolution any day now...

Are the DemonRATS (and RINOs) going to bring back slavery? (UPDATED)(And UPDATED again)

UPDATE 2.0 - VERY IMPORTANT: OK, I see that I got my links mixed up, for which I apologize. Section 6104 of this bill appears in the version originally introduced to the House, but is NOT included in the final version sent to the Senate. This is a good thing!

Because the G.I.V.E. Act ("Generations Invigorating Volunteerism and Education Act") has just passed the House...

Kender alerted me to this post at InfoWars:

Fears about Obama’s plans to create involuntary servitude were first stoked in July 2008, when Obama told a rally in Colorado Springs, “We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we’ve set. We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that is just as powerful, just as strong, just as well funded.”

Despite denials that Obama plans to institute a mandatory program of national service, his original change.gov website stated that Americans would be “required” to complete “50 hours of community service in middle school and high school and 100 hours of community service in college every year”. The text was only later changed to state that Americans would be “encouraged” to undertake such programs.

Section 6104(b)(6) has some very troubling language {UPDATE: The link to the thomas.loc.gov search is not a permalink - you must go here, and then review the full text of the bill. I used the most recent version which was sent to the Senate},/strike>

Whether a workable, fair, and reasonable mandatory service requirement for all able young people could be developed, and how such a requirement could be implemented in a manner that would strengthen the social fabric of the Nation and overcome civic challenges by bringing together people from diverse economic, ethnic, and educational backgrounds.

Funny, last I heard, the definitions of the words "volunteer" and "voluntary" did NOT include the word "MANDATORY." In fact, from the definitions, these words are not synonyms, but ANTONYMS.

So all those DemonRATS and RINOs are, effectively, re-opening the door to slavery.

Way to go, you idiots!

Obviously, he thinks money grows on trees or something...

President Obama, not satisfied with signing off on the massive and irresponsible porkulus "recovery" bill passed by Congress last Friday, is now pushing for an ADDITIONAL $75 billion to prevent foreclosures:

President Obama, calling the housing meltdown a "crisis unlike we've ever known," rolled out a $75 billion plan Wednesday that his administration hopes will keep as many as 9 million families in their homes.

The announcement in Phoenix comes a day after he signed a $787 billion economic rescue package that combines spending and tax cuts aimed at saving and creating millions of jobs.

The foreclosure prevention plan is more ambitious than initially expected -- and more expensive. It aims to aid borrowers who owe more on their mortgages than their homes are currently worth, and borrowers who are on the verge of foreclosure.

Obama said the plan is a critical component in his administration's efforts to pull the nation out of recession.

No, this is a critical component in the DemonRATS' and RINOs' plan to weaken America and turn us all into mewling babies, intent on sucking on the Nanny State's teat all our lives. I never though I'd really see the day that American citizens would put up with this sort of idiocy, but I guess all those years of public school education and media propaganda is finally doing its work.

Welcome to Socialism, America. Lenin, Stalin, and Mao are all rolling in their graves, laughing at how far America has fallen.

UPDATE: This post from Gateway Pundit is particularly ironic:

You know things are out of control when Communist China is lecturing democrats on protectionism and now the former head of the KGB is lecturing US democrats against socialism.

"Out of control"? Well, I think that's putting it... mildly!

Virginia senators Warner and Webb: Anti-religious bigots?

I dunno, what do you think? They both voted against an amendment to the soi-disant "stimulus" bill proposed by Sen. DeMint (R - SC). According to Sen. DeMint's website:

Pages 164-165 of the stimulus contain the following prohibitions on the use of $3.5 billion available for renovation of public or private college and university facilities.

(2) PROHIBITED USES OF FUNDS.—No funds awarded under this section may be used for—
(C) modernization, renovation, or repair of facilities—
(i) used for sectarian instruction, religious worship, or a school or department of divinity; or
(ii) in which a substantial portion of the functions of the facilities are subsumed in a religious mission; or construction of new facilities.

Sen. DeMint proposed striking this language because it was a Congressional infringement of our First Amendment rights and that

“This is a direct attack on students of faith, and I’m outraged Democrats are using an economic stimulus bill to promote discrimination,” said Senator DeMint. “Democrats should be ashamed of themselves for siding with the ACLU over millions of students of faith. These students simply want equal access to public facilities, which is their constitutional right. This hostility toward religion must end. Those who voted to for this discrimination are standing in the schoolhouse door to deny people of faith from entering any campus building renovated by this bill."

Of course Virginia's senators voted against it - they're not interested in the Constitution; they're just like the rest of their DemocRAT(ick) cohorts: freedom of speech and religion are too good for the masses.

Sounds to me like Virginia's bitter, religious gun owners ought to band together and vote these reprobates out of office at the next opportunity. Then again, anything these idiots do to piss of their constituents just makes their tenure in Congress that much shorter... many more stupid moves like these, and Virginians wouldn't spit on Webb and Warner even if they were on fire.

PETA continues to prove that there aren't even two functioning neurons present in the whole group:

People For The Ethical Treatment of Animals - believes calling fish sea kittens will make sea food less appealing.

It wants to change the image of fish as slimy and slithery creatures by claiming they are similar to cuter, more popular animals. "Would people think twice about ordering fish sticks if they were called sea kitten sticks?" PETA asked on its website.

A new word...

While looking up some synonyms for "rant" and "screed" over at the Free Dictionary (an excellent site; well worth bookmarking, and far better than Dictionary.com) this morning, I came upon this lovely word:

FANFARONADE -

  • Bragging or blustering manner or behavior
  • swaggering boastfulness; vainglorious speech or behavior

Beautiful! It rather fits (with some minor alterations) two people who have contacted me in the past 12 hours and tried to tell me how to run my blog.

Hm. [poking around the Free Dictionary] Actually, "sanctimonious" would work for them both, too, as would "peremptory" and "autocratic."

Remember, folks, CatHouse Chat is not a democracy or a republic; it is a kingdom. MY little kingdom. I'm generally a rather benevolent despot, but I am a despot nonetheless, and your "free speech rights" (the Fairness Doctrine's possible return notwithstanding) DO NOT APPLY HERE. Amuse me, graciously educate me, politely argue with me - that's all lovely.

Piss me off, and I kick you out of the house.

Them's the rules.

Republicans have finally turned into Democrats

... Which is one of the BIGGEST reasons we lost this election, you friggin' morons! Via Ace, Michelle, and Redstate among many others, I hear of "anonymous" staffers from the McCain campaign trashing Gov/ Sarah Palin.

Ace says:

Here's a story these staffers tell: Sent to collect Palin from a hotel, she greeted them, straight from the shower (running late, I guess ) dressed (scandal!) only in a bathrobe (presumably a very thick hotel bathrobe).

These staffers called that "uncommon" -- Cameron delighted in the word to give it the sound of "whorish, unprofessional."

Heh, assholes? She had to open the door and had just gotten out of the shower. Did you want her to use her magical powers of telekinesis to open the door for you?

Michelle:

The anonymous trashing of Sarah Palin by blabbermouth McCain aides who are leaking to Fox News is disgusting. Absolutely disgusting.

Allah’s got the vid clip of a report citing unnamed McCain staffers accusing Palin of lacking, in Carl Cameron’s words, “knowledgeability.”  More slime here. And here.

At least all the Hollywood and Manhattan Palin-haters were willing to sign their names and put their faces on their attacks.

Redstate is launching Operation Leper:

We intend to constantly remind the base about these people, monitor who they are working for, and, when 2012 rolls around, see which candidates hire them. Naturally then, you'll see us go to war against those candidates.

Works for me.

Listen, you deaf, smug, elitist snobs who claim to be Republicans and yet refuse to adhere to the core values of the party, I didn't for FOR John McCain. I voted FOR Sarah Palin and AGAINST Obama. If John McCain hadn't brought Sarah Palin on board as his running mate, I would have voted third party and said "To hell with the Republicans!"

If not for Sarah Palin, the popular vote would have been much MORE in Obama's favor; she is a true maverick, is cheerfully courageous, actually lives the values that make up the Republican Party, and isn't afraid to speak the truth and call her opponent on his gaffes, lies, subterfuges, associations, and experience. She is articulate without the overly-polished (i.e. "how well can I say something without actually saying anything?") rhetorical style of Washington insiders - she is a REAL PERSON who understands what it's like to be an "average citizen."

That's who I voted for, and your slimy, craven, and dishonorable behavior towards her ranks you right with the LameStream Lying Media and the DemonRATS.

We lost this election because you RINOs went to Washington, lived the good life, and forgot your base. Your spines turned to mush, your brains decayed, your hearing faded, and your eyes went blind. And the proof is that now, in defeat, instead of standing firm as the loyal opposition and graciously conceding this victory while remaining true to your (long-abandoned) values, you are rolling over, showing your belly, and peeing all over yourselves in eagerness to show your willingness to bend over and be screwed.

Curs! Cowardly, dishonorable, craven, spineless, frail, dithering, foolhardy IDIOTS!

Congratulate Sen. Obama for his historic accomplishment - and remind America that the race card is now off the table forever. Acknowledge his well-run campaign; 'cause you obviously can learn a lot from it. Acknowledge the Democrats' lawful leadership - but never forget that almost half of the people who voted voted AGAINST socialism, AGAINST big government, AGAINST weakness, and AGAINST corruption.

Your "leadership," RINOs, got us into this. You ignored your base, and now the country will pay the price. You will eventually go down; either to more and more liberal, spineless, weak socialists, or to true conservatives who will lead according to the foundational philosophy of conservatism: small government, fiscal restraint, national strength, personal integrity, individual responsibility, and dedicated perseverance.

Something tells me I'll be voting third party for real, next time - unless a miracle happens and you incompetents can get your act together and promote real conservative Republicans.

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice... Ain't gonna happen, dudes.

UPDATE: Oh, and Misha has a few choice words to offer McCain (but read it all; it *IS* the Emperor, LOL) -

But where is the “Maverick” in all of this? Nowhere to be found. His staffers are spreading lies about his VP pick like crazy, but the “brave” Maverick can’t find it in himself to tell his own employees to shut up already and quit character assassinating his own pick. As a matter of fact, the only person in the McCain camp who stood up for her, one Randy Scheunemann, was first reported to have been fired for “disloyalty” and then, later on, claimed that he hadn’t been. Who knows?

All we know is that our Imperial Mother told us to stand up for ladies when they are attacked, but obviously that’s not something that appears in the McCain family curriculum.

Call us when you find your balls, you clown.

Yeah. I'm disgusted with this - for all the rhetoric McCain spoke about his warrior past, and his honorable, manly service, he can't stand up for the woman who pulled his campaign's nuts out of the fire and saved him from losing like Carter lost to Reagan.

[headdesk] No more, RINOs. Not EVER again!

The "Carbone Scale" of election reaction

Hilarious!

Well, no. It's scary - and too possible - because America has moved away from the rule of Law and the disciplines of self-control and tolerance.

God willing, whatever the results, rational minds will prevail over any possible mobs.

Jeri Thompson smacks Alan Colmes

Of course, he probably enjoyed it...

Via Gateway Pundit:

I'll say what Jeri meant, although she's far too savvy to actually say it:

"Alan, you're a putz, an idiot and a liberal tool - but you're fun to smack around, so don't let anyone ever tell you you're completely useless..."

Just sayin'....

Classic class envy - a socialist/communist view

Beautifully displayed by Barney Frank:

The money quote? Right here:

I think at this point, there needs to be an immediate increase in spending, and I think this is a time when deficit fear has to take a second, uh, a second seat. I do think this is the time for a very important kind of dose of [unintelligible]. Yes, I think later on, there should be tax increases. Speaking personally, I think there are a lot of rich people out there who we can tax at a point down the road to recover some of this money.

Yep. Barney Frank isn't interested in fairness. He isn't interested in the 40% of Americans who don't pay taxes. He'd rather go after the "rich people" out there who are working hard, making money, creating jobs (for those 40% - well, the part who aren't on welfare), and invigorating our economy.

Nah, Barney Frank would rather make sure that the government spends money like a drunken sailor, with no checks and balances, and then - after writing all sorts of NSF checks - making "the rich" pay for it all.

Congressman Frank, you - and all your tax-and-spend cohorts - are a disgrace to America.

So, the spineless socialist pigs (by that I mean "Congress") passed it

No, I'm not really surprised.

Lawmakers voted 263-171 to pass the bill. It was the second time this week the House voted. On Monday, it rejected an earlier version, but accepted changes after the Senate added sweeteners and supported it on Wednesday.

President Bush will now sign the bill into law.

Before the vote, member after member went to the well of the chamber to voice discomfort and displeasure with many aspects of the bailout legislation. But they also said they would vote for it anyway. And nearly 30 members who voted against it on Monday said beforehand that they had changed their minds.

They "voice[d] discomfort and displeasure," yet they voted it in anyway. They let themselves be panicked, and rushed forward with an ill-conceived and pork-filled bill that American taxpayers will be paying for for the next century.

Spineless, feeble, cowardly fools! It's been a long time - an extremely long time - since I've seen Congress as a whole act honorably to preserve and uphold the Constitution and our freedom.

However, there are some bright spots one of which was that the majority of the House Republicans, including my congressman, Virgil Goode, voted against this bill (by almost a three two-to-one margin! [*grf!* I need my eyes checked!]) So, perhaps there's hope for the Republicans, at least those in the House. And, sixty-three courageous and freedom-loving Democrats crossed the aisle and tried to vote against socialism as well. Bravo for them.

The Senate, however, has more than a few RINOs who ought to be horsewhipped and stockaded in the public square to face well-deserved scorn (that the DemonRATS deserve the same ought to go without saying).

I'm beginning to see what Shakespeare meant when he said, "The first thing we do, let's kill all the lawyers." (King Henry VI, Part 2, Act 4 scene II), although I'm beginning to wonder if he was prescient and really meant our Congress...

UPDATE: Other Virginians' reactions:

Leslie Carbone, with a quote: "I shall rise and fight again."

Crystal Clear Conservative: "It seems that Congress does not believe in the hard work of Americans, who put in endless hours to make ends meet. They would rather bail out their friends on Wall Street without considering that the American people will be footing this $700 Billion bill. Talk about an infringement of your liberties, Ladies and Gentlemen."

Bearing Drift: Commenting on our Representatives from Virginia says, "Pretty much a NoVA / RoVA split again…regardless of party."

Right Wing Liberal: "The bailout won 58 more votes this time, a sad commentary on the depth of the panic that gripped Washington since Monday." [And I wouldn't say that I'm "beside myself," DJ - but I am royally ticked off!]

Virginia Virtucon has a simple "Thanks for nothing!"

UPDATE 2.0: Oh, and note this lovely little tidbit:

The Dow gave back all of a 300-point rally Friday after the House of Representatives signed off on the controversial $700 billion financial rescue plan

Brilliant. Can't wait until Monday...

Cynthia McKinney: Is she cuckoo for CoCo Puffs, or merely Fruit Loopy?

Yeah, right:

At a news conference in Oakland, Calif., on Sunday, McKinney claimed the Pentagon authorized the execution of the prisoners with one bullet to the head three years ago and then dumped their bodies in a Louisiana swamp.

McKinney said she heard the story from the mother of a National Guard soldier who said her son was assigned to help dispose of the bodies.

"And these were mostly males and her son was afraid to talk because he had signed a silence agreement," McKinney told the crowd. "So he only complained to his mother. But the data was entered into a Pentagon computer."

McKinney said she verified the story from "insiders" who wanted to remain anonymous.

The woman is stark, raving mad. Sadly, there are enough people like her who will swallow this unsubstantiated, unlikely, and unverified slander hook, line, and sinker.

Cynthia McKinney: Poster Child for unhinged, delusional conspiracy theorists everywhere.

UPDATE: Oh, look! And here's one now! Go look at the comments and see what "Raf" has to say - of course, Raf is from San Francisco, so expect more unverified, unsubstantiated, and unlikely slander (except it's libel, since it's in print...). Make sure you read carefully; Raf took a whole 19 minutes to vomit up this drivel, and you want to really take the time to appreciate his (?) effort.

The Senate to the rescue!!!

Yep, the Senate is so concerned with the state of our economy and the possible fallout from all these bad mortgages that they overwhelmingly passed the bailout bill last night.

Of course, being the pigs they are, they couldn't resist adding some excrement to an already abysmally awful bill:

"This is how Washington works," said Keith Ashdown of Taxpayers for Common Sense, a Washington research group. "A big pot of pork is their recipe for final passage."

The special provisions include tax breaks for:

* Manufacturers of kids' wooden arrows - $6 million.

* Puerto Rican and Virgin Is- lands rum producers - $192 million.

* Wool research.

* Auto-racing tracks - $128 million.

* Corporations operating in American Samoa - $33 million.

* Small- to medium-budget film and television productions - $10 million.

Another measure inserted into the bill appears to be a bald-faced bid aimed at winning the support of Rep. Don Young (R-Alaska), who voted against the original version when it went down in flames in the House on Monday.

That provision - a $223 million package of tax benefits for fishermen and others whose livelihoods suffered as a result of the 1989 Exxon Valdez oil spill - has been the subject of fervent lobbying by Alaska's congressional delegation.

Seems to me, porkers, that if you're really so worried about the economy and the state of our banks and so on, that you would do your best to craft a bill that's lean and deals very specifically with the problem at hand - but nooooooo! No, you've all got to piss in it, and then do your best to force  that urine-soaked excrement sandwich down the throat of the struggling American taxpayer.

Real bi-partisanship, guys - DemonRats and RINOs together, screwing the American people and the American economy yet again.

I pray the House holds the line and reminds the Senate what a spine is for - but my increasing cynisicm says, "Yeah, fat chance!"

*WOULD* we be safer with an Obama presidency?

My blog-brother Michael has an interesting comment up in response to my post about an e-mail I'd gotten from a moonbat the other day. Let me remind you of the "best" line:

Anyone who supports mcstain and pailin, need to be lined up and shot in the back of the head an buried in an unmarked grave covered in holy water.

How very tolerant and supportive of free speech and free elections, don't you think?

Michael wonders (and I suggest you read the whole post) -

So taking this all into account, will we indeed be physically safer if Obama wins? [emph. mine] If John McCain wins, will I need to remove my “McCain-Palin” sticker from my truck immediately or face an attack or vandalism? Will their be rioting in the streets?

A professor at The King’s College suggests there is “potential for public riots the night of or after the election, if Obama’s lead in the polls does not translate into victory.” [One News Now]

The professor suggests that race could have a significant impact on the outcome of the election. Of course the suggestion is that American whites, particularly the rural, bitter clinging to religion and gun types, won’t vote for an African American man.

Frankly, although I've been fortunate not to have this illogical and unreasonable hate inundate my in-box, I have to wonder if Michael isn't right to bring up the question. The mindless, blind adherance to the "party line," the desire - the EARNEST desire - to silence opposing voices, the lack of calm and reasoned discussion, and the vast echo chamber of Obama-worship are truly unnerving.

I never thought that America would become a nation of blind, fanatical, unreasonable bigots - but this trend seems to be on the rise. To put it bluntly, if this continues, I wouldn't be a bit surprised to see Nazi-style oppression, Soviet-style supression, Chinese-style autocracy, and 1984-style politically correct speech turning a formerly free people into slaves.

America. The freest, most prosperous, most open country in the world, willingly donning the chains of conformity and group think.

God help us!

Well, now, here's a moonbat with anger issues

Hi, folks - I've just gotten my first real piece of serious hate mail from a looney named Annette. So, without further ado, here's her e-mail address ( katnipsox@yahoo.com ) and here's her incoherent, violent rant:

I was going to post some pics of my lovely felines but after seeing your pailin mcstain...whatever it was, I became sick and had to run to the bathroom. people like you need to have your head examined. If you were really a "christian" you would see what evil disgusting people mcstain and pailin are. Bush included. Make no mistake, god will take you to task for voting and pushing such filth on people. Anyone who supports mcstain and pailin, need to be lined up and shot in the back of the head an buried in an unmarked grave covered in holy water.

Don't you just love the "tolerant" left? Don't you just love how they're all for peace and hope and change?

This sort of vile comment is all too common from the left, and frankly, is un-American.

So, my friends, there's what info I have on her; have at it.

(UPDATE: Oh, and yes, I did report the TOS violation to Yahoo. What are the odds, do you suppose, of them actually doing anything?)

"I fear for my country when I reflect that God is just."

Via NewsBusters, I see this heinous and disgusting article by Nicholas Provenzo in "The Rule of Reason" -

Like many, I am troubled by the implications of Alaska governor and Republican Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin's decision to knowingly give birth to a child disabled with Down syndrome. Given that Palin's decision is being celebrated in some quarters, it is crucial to reaffirm the morality of aborting a fetus diagnosed with Down syndrome (or by extension, any unborn fetus)—a freedom that anti-abortion advocates seek to deny. [emphasis mine]

"It is crucial to reaffirm the morality" of killing an innocent life?! I cannot believe that millions of people in this formerly godly country have been deluded by this lie, and that this person would be so obscenely brazen as to proclaim it. I am amazed that God in His forbearance has not yet judged us severely for allowing the daily murder of thousands of unborn children.

But make no mistake: God is allowing America to heap up the full measure of our sin, and He will pour out His wrath on us in due time.

And Mr. Provenzo, God has something to say to you:

The wicked are estranged from the womb;
They go astray as soon as they are born, speaking lies.

I would suggest that this appears to be an accurate description of you and your opinion of the unborn children whose murder you endorse. It would actually be far more just and "moral" if you were to say that you should have been aborted!

God affirms that all children, born and unborn, are a blessing:

Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD,
The fruit of the womb is a reward.

The Psalmist rejoices that

... You formed my inward parts;
You covered me in my mother’s womb.
I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
         Marvelous are Your works,
And that my soul knows very well.
My frame was not hidden from You,
When I was made in secret,
And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.
Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed.
And in Your book they all were written,
         The days fashioned for me,
When as yet there were none of them.

God knows the end from the beginning, and He knows what is in the heart of every man.

Mr. Provenzo, though you may not believe in Him or His Word, God knows you inside and out. One day, you will stand before Him, and He will judge you. And woe unto you if He should say:

“‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels, for I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink, I was a stranger and you did not take Me in, naked and you did not clothe Me, sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.’

“Then they also will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?’ Then He will answer them, saying, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’ And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

Take careful heed, Mr. Provenzo, lest your pride, arrogance and callousness be your eternal downfall.

I pray that America will return to her senses and decide that the "freedom" of abortion is only another kind of slavery and will vehemently renounce it in sorrow and grief for all those already murdered.

The DemonRATic Party - dishonorable cowards, slimeballs and muckrakers - all of 'em

From Kim Preistap at Wizbang:

Alaska Democrats have released Sarah Palin's social security number to the Politico as part of opposition research information. Remember back in 2005 Maryland Democrats did the same thing to Michael Steele. These people are subhuman and have no place in civilized society. RedState has the red siren going:

The Politico has received an opposition research file from the Alaska Democrats. You can read it in PDF here.

In the file, the Democrats have released Sarah Palin's social security number minus the last four digits. Also tied to the information are her various home addresses.

At the moment, I cannot access RedState; I don't know why. I hope they come up soon, because I want to read that .pdf...

And thanks so much to Darleen Click at Protein Wisdom, who very kindly hat tipped ME, instead of Kim ;-)

UPDATE: The .pdf is here, at the Politico, and I see that the SSN is now entirely blacked out. Is there anyone who knows if we can pull up a Google cache or something to prove that is was n't originally completely redacted?

You've got to admire Todd Palin

... because, frankly, I'm fairly sure he's longing to put a serious hurt on people like Andrew Sullivan and Alan Colmes. But, I suppose honor would also keep Todd from soiling his hands on these two wusses - after all, neither of them would last 10 seconds, I'm sure.

After all, here are two... Well, I'd hesitate to call either of them men, since they apparently haven't an honorable, courageous bone in either of their bodies... idiots who cast vile aspersions on Todd's wife and daughters, and Todd - as possible Second Dude of the United States - must restrain himself from knocking on Colmes' or Sullivan's door and beating the crap out of them.

Can you imagine how this man - who obviously loves his family deeply - might feel if any of his daughters came to him, upset by all these disgusting, evil and unfounded accusations and insinuations? As I write this, it hasn't even been a full 72 hours since Sen. McCain announced Gov. Palin as his running mate, and the filth that has poured in on the Palin family from the loopy left is horrifying!

I'm ashamed to claim these moonbats as fellow Americans - and no, this isn't about patriotism, it's about common decency. Unfortunately, it appears that "common decency" has become another oxymoron.

*sigh*

So, Mr. Palin, I thank you for being a good man, a good husband, and a good father. I will keep you in my prayers, and ask God to help you sheild and guard your family. Keep the faith, sir.

Oh, good lord - back to "Hurricanes are CONSERVATIVES' fault" stupidity

From the Corner, I get a link to this Facebook page. Here's a screencap in case you can't access Facebook:

Can someone explain to me just WHAT is holding these idiots' ears apart? 'Cause it sure as heck ain't brains...

UPDATE: Heh. From six fans yesterday to 22 today - and some of those "fans" obviously have brains! (as always, click to embiggen)

HurricaneGustavPalinsFaultComments

It's nice to see that there are still some rational people left in the world.

Alan Colmes - libtard coward

Kim Preistap over at Wizbang! posted late last night (early this morning?) about a disgusting entry by Alan Colmes on his blog, Liberaland:

Alan Colmes of Hannity and Colmes wrote a post so inappropriate and offensive the Kos Kiddies would be envious. He accused Governor Palin of not taking enough care of Trig when he was an unborn baby. A man who has no problem with a woman killing her unborn baby through an abortion actually has the nerve to ask if Governor Palin took too great a risk with her pregnancy:

Don't even bother going over to the Liberaland link; the post has been removed, and what you'll see is this (click to embiggen):

AlanColmesSarahPalin

I'm very glad that Kim took a screenshot AND quoted from the article before Colmes' cowardice and intellectual dishonesty made him pull the post, so make sure you go over and check it out.

Like Kim says, "You stay classy, Alan Colmes." Cretin.

UPDATE: And, instead of freezing the comments in the original post, and editing it with an apology unmarred by excuses, Colmes instead puts up a new post with a very familiar whine:

The post about Sarah Palin’s pre-natal care was taken down because of the vile comments made by a plethora of conservatives who decided to invade the site and show us just how decent and value-driven some of them are.  Nothing like epithet-hurling if you want to make your point, or if you have strong objections to what someone says or does. (Also archived by WebCite® at http://www.webcitation.org/5aUdJtRSp - just in case he takes this one down, too Huh. WebCite doesn't want to archive it. Pity.)

Yuh-huh. Lemme see, you can deleted really offensive comments, you can ban certain words - you can even ban commenters. You can even never open comments, honey. By the way, one astute Wizbang! reader archived the original comments to the post here, so you can see at least a good portion of them from before Colmes pulled the post.

So, it's all the nasty, mean conservatives who made him take the post down. Awwwwwww!

Maybe we don't particularly care for liberal, "women are in charge of their own bodies except when we want to smear a conservative" hypocrisy, Colmes. Ya think?

Bunny Colvin earns third-ever lifetime ban on CatHouse Chat

First it was meatbrain (or, "the pustule" as I prefer to call it), then it was hoobie (for general idiocy and obnoxious rudeness), and now Bunny gets to join this little group of unwelcome cretins.

He's trolled for a long time over at And Rightly So, owned by my beloved friend Raven, and after I rebuked him rather sharply over there, he decided to come over here and drop a spite-filled little piece of dung. Instead of actually addressing my point of Obamaramadingdong's empty promises, all little Bunnicula has to offer is this:

"Pandering to terrorists"? Please- you're a joke. And your quilts are hideous.

PEACE

Yeah. Certainly a very mature, cogent, and intelligent refutation of my point, Bunbun.

I can't believe how these morons think they might persuade anyone with half a brain over to their side! I'm not against liberals - not at all! - in fact, my best friends have political views far to the left of mine (... OK, I admit, that's not terribly hard... But NEVERTHELESS! LOL) and we get along swimmingly. It is a blessing to have them, however, because when we discuss politics, they speak thoughtfully and rationally. They give logical points and make careful rebuttals to my comments. They also know when we're going to have to agree to disagree, and that we can still be good friends.

That's the way to persuade people to your point of view, not to use childish little snarks which have noting to do with the discussion. Bunny's just jealous because he (she?) will never join the ranks of the many people to whom I have given quilts, and who love and appreciate them.

So, Bunny, you're a minority of one and have proven yourself to be a spiteful and malicious little spoiled brat. I certainly don't need or want your kind here on CatHouse Chat. However, since that's the best you can do, I've decided to exercise my right as owner of this blog and offer you an invitation to the world - in other words, don't let the door further bruise your petty little ass on your way out, Bunny.

Buh-bye.

August 20, 2008

The empty suit makes empty promises - gee, what a surprise!

Obama is not ready for prime time - what the heck is he doing, spewing this kind of pap?!

Democrat Barack Obama took his presidential campaign today to the region with Virginia’s highest unemployment and vowed to work to improve lives of middle-class workers

“I’m not going to say all of the jobs in Martinsville are going to come back if I’m elected president,” Obama told about 300 invited guests - most of them blue-collar workers - gathered at a community college.

“I’m not saying the schools will be fixed,” he said. “What I’m saying is that I’m going to wake up every morning thinking about you.”

Oh, how sweet! [pauses while everyone coos "Awwww!"] While he's raising our taxes, while he's pandering to terrorists, while he's supporting infanticide, he'll still be thinking about Martinsville every morning. My, that's so... comforting! So... inspiring!

Yeah. Right. You want to know what he's gonna be thinking? He's gonna sit up in bed at the White House every morning, have a good stretch, and think

I can't believe those schmucks actually bought it!

Vote NObama - because if hope ain't teamed with sweat and guts, it's just an empty suit of hot air.

Republicans for Obama???

OMG, talk about a glorious example of why the GOP is losing so frequently: they've lost whatever it was that used to hold their skull bones apart! And spines? I'm beginning to think that the definition of today's Republicans must use the word "spineless."

From Friday's D.C. Examiner: An Emerging Constituency: Obama Republicans:

John Martin, a lifelong Republican who founded the Web site Republicans for Obama, said his track record is too short to be defined as a liberal.

“If the solutions Obama proposes are a little more to the left than I would prefer, then that is fine,” Martin said. “We need some kind of solution for our problems and we are not getting them.”

I would really love to check out the sooper seekrut magic 8-ball Mr. Martin uses to project Obama's future conservatism. Dude, the solution for our problems is to go back to the foundation of the Republican Party's mission (small government, low taxes, strong national defense, family values, and personal integrity and responsibility - since you've obviously forgotten), rather than support more government bloating and interference.

They're pushing me more and more to either the Libertarians or the Constitutionalists, you know...

UPDATE: I forgot to add this... John Martin, "lifelong Republican," you have won

THE JETHRO SMACK AWARD OF THE DAY!!!

Congratulations on moronic non-thought below and well short of the call of duty. Idiot.

(Kittipurrs to my blog brother, Rick Sincere, for the news link)

(And excuse me, I need to go throw up again... [wanders away muttering "Republicans for Obama - gads, what kind of drugs are they on?!"])

Stick a fork in him - he's done...

... either that, or he's a prime candidate for the loony bin:

Former President Jimmy Carter said Monday that Hamas is prepared to accept the right of Israel to "live as a neighbor next door in peace." [link]

Former President D'jimmi al-Qatar needs to align his mind with what has proven to be reality for almost 40 years - Hamas, Palestine, and the whole Islamic mess over there has never been truthful, has never kept its promises, and will never cease trying to destroy Israel.

Carter is wilfully blind to the lies these terrorists live by, and he is disgracing his former office and the country he once led (which is no surprise; he was a disgracefully inept leader). His anti-semitism is disgusting, and his hatred for the truth is obvious.

I join with Rep Myrick's demand to SecState Condoleeza Rice to revoke this stupid idiot's passport... Frankly, I'd love to revoke his citizenship...

Aw, couldn't happen to nicer people (NOT!)

Judge orders liens on church building, law office

A federal judge in Maryland on Thursday ordered liens on the Westboro Baptist Church building and the Phelps-Chartered Law office.

If the case presided over by U.S. District Court Judge Richard D. Bennett is upheld by an appeals court, the church, at 3701 S.W. 12th, and the office building, at 1414 S.W. Topeka Blvd., could be obtained by the court and sold, with the proceeds being applied toward $5 million in damages Bennett imposed on church members for picketing a military funeral.

Darn. Just DARN!!!

I mean, really - couldn't they have done this sooner?

The Westboro cult is disgusting, and their vile rhetoric and attitudes have NO PLACE in the Christian community. They are NOT the true face of the disciples of Christ, and they are a foul example of pride and hatred.

So I hope they lose everything, and I pray that God will use these circumstances to bring them to their knees and truly submit themselves to Him and His Word. I pray they will renounce their hateful ways, and instead turn and serve others as Christ did while He was here on earth.

Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,  gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. (Galatians 5:19-23, NKJV) [emph. mine]

BlogNet News unfairly attacked

You know, anyone who has a basic understanding of RSS feeds really wouldn't get into a snit over this, but apparently Victoria Marinelli, a blogger in the St. Louis area, hasn't done her homework. Dave Mastio, the creator of BlogNet News, had added her blog to BNN, and poor Vicky got her knickers all in a twist. FYI, it's a dot-com under her name - I'm not going to link it - look at the entry for 26Mar08.

Vicky is claiming that Dave's inclusion of her RSS feed is NOT "fair use," but "theft," and proceeded to immediately go on the attack - her first e-mail to him opens with "Dear Thief."

Way to display your intelligence and maturity, Vik. Not.

I've dealt with Dave in the past few years, and he's always willing to help out and open to suggestions. I've met him in person, and he's amusing, gracious, and really a nice guy. If you were that irritated at being included, a simple "I would prefer not to have my blog on your aggregator; please remove it" would have been more than sufficient, but nnnooooo! Vicky had to get up on her high horse and make a major "Drah-mah, dahling!" out of it.

Dave, gracious man that he is, keeps his cool and responds far more civilly than she deserves.

Vik, baby, you know, to be perfectly fair, you really need to track down everyone who has you on their feed readers and see if you're going to allow them to subscribe to your feed. My blog brother, Scott, puts it bluntly:

But lets try to address this mommy blogger’s claims.

  • republishes my sites content without permission and without any links back to my own website - I am familiar with the internal workings of BNN.  The guts of the machine.  I know how it works.  Not on a “coding” level but on the level that I work with it and the fact that it produces the content you see.  Click on the title of any article on BNN and you will be taken to the producing site.  It has been that way since I have been a contributor and since I have been an Editor.  Click on the name of your blog and you go to your very own aggregate within BNN of all your most recent posts.
  • As far as I know, Dave was not a speech writer for George W. Bush.  He was a speech writer for the administration but not the President.  Something to do with a Trade Secretary or someone.  I am not even sure.  What difference does THAT make?
  • Dave is an editorialist/editor for the Virginian-Pilot.
  • BNN does not publish an entire article unless the article is really short, like “you suck” or something like that.  I am not sure of the character count but I imagine around 200 characters or so of your content is published.
  • I am not a lawyer, I am not a specialist when it comes to dealing with intellectual property.  But I am relatively familiar with the legal system and some of its thought processes.  If you put a “Feed” button on your site, if you publish a syndicated feed of any type that does not require a registration or paid subscription, you are placing that content in the public domain for all to use.  Your permission is implied.

D'uh!

Dave, as I said, is a good guy. Personally, I think Vicky-baby is simply making a tempest in a teapot in an attempt to increase her traffic. Well, I daresay she'll get a brief bump, but this is, at best a three-day-wonder. BlogNet News is a good site, providing a very worthwhile and useful service, and won't be much affected by Vicky's little temper tantrum.

Vik, a final word of advice: you know they've got medication for that little PMS problem you've got going, right? Don't know if they've got any good drugs to improve the thought processes, though...

"Earth Hour"? Pfft!

On March 29, 2008 at 8 p.m., join millions of people around the world in making a statement about climate change by turning off your lights for Earth Hour, an event created by the World Wildlife Fund.

Nope, I don't believe that I'm gonna join the tree huggers on this one. Jim Hoeft points to Doug's suggestion at Below the Beltway -

I think I’ll have to make sure every light in the house is turned on.

I'm standing in solidarity with my Virginia blog-brothers... In fact, here's a video that fits the situation beautifully, I think *snicker*

UPDATE: Apparently, there's some difficulty with the video... If THIS doesn't work, just search Google videos, and I'm sure you'll get a hit... ;-) [/update]

When Leftards "peaceful demonstrators" attack - the video

Yep. He did. He whacked Skye, just for videotaping an exchange of insults. Sky was not participating, she was only taping, and this cretin lashes out at her! Melanie Morgan has posted that the... male person... who attacked Skye has been identified as

The (alleged) Peace Slapper has been identified as John Meicht , a college professor who taught a course at Widener University last spring.

And here's the video of the, erm, "distinguished professor's" attack:

Class act, dude. Really... stylish. So tolerant, enlightened, loving and peaceful.

Not.

"Peaceful" lefty demonstrator attacks!

I've met Skye (back at Gathering of Eagles in D.C., Sept 07) - she's a lovely lady, thoughtful and intelligent... So, when I see that Concrete Bob posted that she was attacked (also here at UCV, which is where I got the initial report)...!

Saturday around 12:10 PM, a member of the Chester County Peace Movement (CCPM) slapped a woman twice ( that would be me) who was videotaping an exchange between the two opposing groups. Police were called and an officer arrived at 12:15 PM and announced to the crowd that he was conducting an investigation.

Bob says

This is just one more example of the rabid left, the so-called "peaceful, non-violent left", showing their true colors when the odds are against them and they know they are losing.

At this point, I am asking that from now on, NO ONE is to be alone in any situation. We have got to watch each other's backs at all times.

Do not allow yourself to be seperated [sic] from the crowd, and do not engage these people, because they are obviously becoming unstable and un-predictable.

What pisses me off is that this scum sucking piece of leftist excrement chose the one person who he thought was the weakest. Well, he picked the wrong one this time. This young Lady is a friend and a Patriot.

Yep. Sure show the true colors of those "so-called 'peaceful, non-violent left' " demonstrators. Seems to me that, if they were serious about being peaceful, someone from their group ought to have stepped up to restrain the guy or help point him out to the police!

UPDATE: Skye mentions the incident on her blog, **AND** gets a mention by Michelle Malkin! Skye's full story was posted by Melanie Morgan, of Move America Forward... Make sure you check out the links, including the pictures!

GloBull Vormening strikes!

GloBull Vormening strikes!
Oh, dear, whatever shall we DO?! The Munchkin will be bummed: she's already out of school for Easter Break... Normal max/min. is between 64F and 37F... *Snerk*

UPDATE: Oh, yes, and that's taken thru my screen, hence the grid pattern. It didn't stick, but the car did get a little accumulation...

What? It was cold! I wanted to stay inside my warm and cozy house!

UPDATE 2: (Lotta updates for today's posts...) Just so you know, when I was over feeding my neighbor's horses at about 6pm, we got a nice sleety rain, too. It made feeding rather miserable, and I was glad to get home and snuggle by the fire with a warm dinner! I tell ya, it's GloBull Vormening at it's worst!

John Cheney, anti-uranium troll...

I completely edited his comment on my Holy Week post, but here's what he wrote:

Questions for the Multi-National and Local Corporations that want to mine Uranium in Pittsylvania County: Why should the CITIZENS of the state of VIRGINIA be required to tell a MULTI-NATIONAL CORPORATION exactly how to mine from our pristine lands the most dangerous commodity ever discovered by mankind? In all other cases of this kind, the developer or industrial corporation tells the State what they intend to do and how they intend to do it, and then asks the state to study it and approve or deny the process. VIRGINIA URANIUM wants to reverse this process!! It wants the state to spend its time studying the process and then tell VUI how to do it!!! Wow, what MULTI-NATIONAL CORPORATION would not want this process? It's a dream come true for VUI!! Rather, I believe this is the job and definite requirement of the Multi-Nationals and all of Coles’ many local/state/multi-national companies! Do Your Own Job, Walter Coles.............. It's not our Job............It's Yours!!

Johnny-baby, just a couple of pointers...

  • read the rules
  • keep on topic
  • rein in the rhetoric

Really, baby, this sort of idiocy just makes me dig in my heels and want to display the more mulish side of my personality.

And as for the

Why should the CITIZENS of the state of VIRGINIA be required to tell a MULTI-NATIONAL CORPORATION exactly how to mine from our pristine lands the most dangerous commodity ever discovered by mankind?

Hey, little troll, haven't you ever understood civic responsibility? That's why varockstar and I - among others - want the study to proceed: we, as CITIZENS, want all the up-to-date scientific information so that we can make informed decisions and vote accordingly!

In other words, IF the science - the best and most up-to-date science - says, "This is a bad thing" - THEN we-the-citizens can tell a "multi-national" [rolls eyes] corporation to piss off. But if the best and most up-to-date science says, "This can be done safely" - THEN, we-the-citizens tell this company, which is over 70% local-family owned [oooooo, yeah, THAT'S "MULTI-NATIONAL!!! ... Idiot!], just what we want them to do so that we're assured of safe operation and profits/benefits for the county....

Try again, little troll - and on a post dealing with the uranium issue AND with intelligent arguments, and perhaps I won't ban you from spewing stupidity here in my House...

Lord, what fools...

You know, my family used to own a house in Vermont, and we'd go up on weekends and several weeks during the summer. It was a great place; lots of room to ramble, a pond full of frogs and tadpoles and salamanders, a river for swimming and tubing... All in all, a great state.

The people were also wonderful; salt of the earth types, with few words but ready smiles, and willing to give an honest day's work for the pay.

Now we have this idiocy: Vt. towns put Bush, Cheney on arrest list.

Voters in two southern Vermont towns passed articles Tuesday calling for the indictment of President Bush and Vice President Cheney for violating the Constitution.

More symbolic than substantive, the items sought to have police arrest Bush and Cheney if they ever visit Brattleboro or nearby Marlboro or to extradite them for prosecution elsewhere — if they're not impeached first.

In Brattleboro, the vote was 2,012 for and 1,795 against. In Marlboro, it was 43 to 25, with three abstentions.

"I hope the one thing that people take from this is 'Hey, it can be done,"' said Kurt Daims, 54, who organized the petition drive that led to the Brattleboro vote.

Kurt, whatever you've had stuffed in your skull to hold the bones apart has leaked out your ears.

It is a terrible shame that one of the original 13 states [UPDATE - OMG, I am mortified - I was close, but Vermont was actually the FOURTEENTH state - thanks for the correction, Iso... Dang, I'm really, totally, COMPLETELY embarrassed!] has been so corrupted with moonbattery - oh, but wait, I forget that Massachusetts and New York are at least as bad...

Yeah, our Founders are probably looking down on us in horrified disgust...

"Educated"?!

I don't think so! How can you call this woman "educated" when she has this insane aspiration for her son?!

Zahra Maladan is an educated woman who edits a women's magazine in Lebanon. She is also a mother, who undoubtedly loves her son. She has ambitions for him, but they are different from those of most mothers in the West. She wants her son to become a suicide bomber.

Oh, that's right, Islam is the Religion of Peace™ ... I forgot...

We need new rules, strategies and tactics to deal effectively and fairly with these dangerous new realities. We cannot simply wait until the son of Zahra Maladan -- and the sons and daughters of hundreds of others like her -- decide to follow his mother's demand. We must stop them before they export their sick and dangerous culture of death to our shores.

Oh, really? Ya THINK?! I am becoming more and more inclined to support the Coulter Doctrine™ -

We should invade their countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity.  We weren't punctilious about locating and punishing only Hitler and his top officers. We carpet-bombed German cities; we killed civilians. That's war. And this is war.

Yes. It is. It's time we stop fooling ourselves and really begin to understand that a large number of these people want to kill us.

Let's quit fooling around and being all politically correct. It's "put up or shut up" time, folks... Has been for a while, actually.

BREAKING: Another campus shooting?!

FoxNews is reporting

Northern Illinois University issued an alert on its Web site Thursday to notify students of a possible gunman on campus.

"There has been a report of a possible gunman on campus," according to the alert. "Get to a safe area and take precautions until given the all clear. Avoid the King Commons and all buildings in that vicinity."

Great. Just lovely....

Can we question their patriotism NOW??

Link: ContraCostaTimes.com - Berkeley council tells Marines to leave.

Hey-hey, ho-ho, the Marines in Berkeley have got to go.

That's the message from the Berkeley City Council, which voted 6-3 Tuesday night to tell the U.S. Marines that its Shattuck Avenue recruiting station "is not welcome in the city, and if recruiters choose to stay, they do so as uninvited and unwelcome intruders."

I mean really... Well, I suppose the one good thing you could say is that these idiots aren't so stupid as to fall into the "We support the troops, but not the war" hypocrisy...

SHIRLEY MCCLAIN???

O'Reilly is having Shirley McClain on The Factor tonight???

Oh, man... So, is this a situation which calls for heavy drugs, or just copious amounts of alcohol? Shirley McClain...

Wow.

Well, it will be amusing, at the very least!

No, my head ISN'T "exploding"

After all, isn't this just what we expect from the lame-stream media?

"Newsweek welcomes Kos as a political contributor"

Of course, I will confess that my eyes are about to pop out of my head with all the scornful rolls they've been performing....

The big-government idiots Keep. Coming. BACK!

Down here in Pittsylvania county, a tax on food and beverages is coming up for the third time (pdf). It's already been soundly defeated twice - you'd think that our board of supervisors would catch a clue, wouldn't you?

Well, when they have our Federal Congress as an example, who could really blame them?

Thank God the illegal-immigration-friendly soi-disant "DREAM Act" was defeated today - but don't worry! The surrender monkeys, the traitors, the spineless idiots which infest our Congress will find another way to try to erode our national sovereignty.

Even after the HUGE uproar by American citizens against illegal-friendly legislation this past year, our "leaders" in Congress (yeah, and I'm also blaming Bush for this...) keep trying to push this crap through. They refuse to support existing law which prohibits illegal immigration, they refuse to listen to citizens who are screaming at them to secure our borders,  and they are apparently all insisting on taking a long walk off a short pier!

I notice that our newest senator from Virginia, Jim Webb, voted in support of the DREAM Act, following his evil overlords, Shrillary, Obamarama-ding-dong, and Dirty Harry Reid. I bet that Virginia's favorite RINO... Oh, WOW! John Warner actually discovered a spine and rejected cloture! Well, I suppose that, since he's retiring, he's got nothing to lose by standing up for what's right...

Don't worry, though... Just like a bad penny, this issue will turn up again soon.

Anyone want to join in a class-action suit against our national government and sue them  for breech of contract, traitorous activities, and crass defiance of the Constitution?
