I didn't want to be a Mom!

Yet, lo these many years ago, the alarm bell went off, and BelovedHubby and I decided to take the plunge, and this is what God blessed us with:

DSC07167

She is our joy and our treasure... And, as I said to another friend,

This is what it's all about... They tear your heart out in the most joyous and tender way, and then they hand it back to you with a smile, filled up with all these wonderful moments... Snapshots of love-bursts that get you through hard times, make you a better person, and stay with you until the end of your days...

Yep. And thank the Good Lord Above for these beautiful, incredible people who happen to be our kids!

Shari'ah Law And Church's Chicken

The story below relates what happened to the Beasleys (Baltimore, Maryland) and illustrates just one aspect of how shari'ah-compliant finance can directly affect us here in the United States.

From this source:

A Baltimore couple has filed a federal civil rights lawsuit against the Islamic investment bank that owns the Church's Chicken fast-food chain, alleging their franchise failed because the bank's strict adherence to the religious code of Shari'ah prohibited the couple from selling pork.

Blogger Threatened

Image:
Norman Rockwell's "Freedom of Speech"

Kevin of The Amboy Times was threatened yesterday — all because he is keeping a running list entitled "The List of Things That Offend Muslims." The following is the threat which Kevin received:

...You know how much I hate to wish that something really bad happen to anyone (though at times I have expressed my desire to have someone I truly hate suffer in death thanks to a speeding bullet train). But I think I have no excuse to pray that the author of this idiotic post have anything good for him or her.

This guy is a real muppet. I couldn't care to dig up his background or where he came from for that matter. Anyone who stirs shit like that deserved to be shot really. This is simply a case of asking for it. Don't even mention terrorists, this chap could be in real trouble even if he bumped into his Muslim neighbour, if he has any....

The Armchair Critic is the web site which published the threat, HERE, where you can read the entire posting.

Part of Kevin's comment about the threat:

This kind of proves the basic thesis of the list, that Westerners have to tip toe around Muslims and hope they don't kill us for holding our own views. The faiths we practice and the traditions that we hold dear are meaningless targets for jihad. The writer, whose blog banner features a revolver with spattered blood, doesn't seem to realize that murder for the sake of his religion is what draws criticism to Islam.

Robert Spencer of Jihad Watch learned of the threat and had this to say about it:

ALERT! BLOGGER TO BE ARRESTED!

The terrible news about the upcoming arrest of Lionheart UK reached my inbox in the wee hours of Friday, January 4, 2008:

Hi AOW

I just wanted to let you know that I am being arrested by the British police because of my blog.

As Pamela stated in her post on the topic at Atlas Shrugs,

[Lionheart] has been a warrior on the war on the jihad in the UK and exposed the drug running that funded Islamic jihad in Britain and posted on the tsunami of sharia enveloping his beloved country. The Brits have submitted to Islam and they mean to shut down anyone who speaks for freedom, justice and liberty. Silencing the daring truth tellers...."Hate speech" legislation is the club the political elites will wield to club us into submission.

"Lifting The Fog"

My friend Mustang of Social Sense has written what I consider an excellent and important essay. Excerpt from the end of the essay:

...It is amazing to me that President Bush and other leaders in the Western World refuse to acknowledge the truth of what is happening. Indeed, Mr. Bush is prancing around the Saudis like a little girl in a tutu — and the greatest evidence of this is our government’s refusal to demand closure of Wahhabist madrassahs in Northern Virginia and other locations from one end of this country to the other. I can assure you that if anyone opened a Christian academy that taught students to hate and seek out Muslims and mutilate them, the entire weight of the U. S. government would descend upon them in short order....

Read Mustang's entire essay. Worth your time and consideration.

We lack effective political leadership, leaders who are not dhimmis, leaders with guts enough to get past political correctness.  Where are those leaders?

And what is it going to take for the West to wake up--to really wake up?  Thinking about that something casts a pall across my life every day.

"Never Forget What Our Enemies Are Capable Of"

From Society of Americans for National Existence:

Slide show at THIS LINK. Speakers recommended.

Recently Cal Thomas wrote the following essay about 9/11 (emphases mine):

Forget 9/11 at Our Peril

Throughout our young history, Americans have been admonished to "Remember the Alamo," "Remember the Maine" and "Remember Pearl Harbor." These remembrances — and others — were for the purpose of motivating the public to fight on until an enemy was vanquished. When victory was assured, the memory faded into history.

Now, as we approach the sixth anniversary of Sept. 11, there are suggestions that we should begin to forget the worst terrorist incident in America's history. Recently, a front-page story in The New York Times suggested it is becoming too much of a burden to remember the attack, that nothing new can be said about it and that, perhaps, Sept. 11 "fatigue" may be setting in.

So FDT is finally in.....(by Kender, still tending the house here)

So Fred Dalton Thompson has finally announced (officially) that he is running for President.  It seems to me from the talks I have had with a lot of conservatives that he will have a bit of a time with it, as many conservatives are willing to compromise standard conservative principles and support rudy, or whine about the "lack of experience" that Thompson has compared to Mitt or Rudy.

I say that is a plus.  This man has no political baggage.  He doesn't OWE anyone, which means he is free from the favor syndrome, which goes along the lines of I help you now you help me later.

Fred is free of tons of political baggage that comes from years of compromising with those that you disagree with.

I kinda like that fact about him.  Let's hire someone new that is thinking outside of the box, and isn't scared to piss people off.

Courting the Muslim Vote

From this August 24, 2007 article in the Washington Post:

More than 50 candidates in this fall's elections are expected to appear in Reston tomorrow [August 25] at a political picnic organized by a group of Northern Virginia mosques, and organizers say the heavy turnout underscores the growing influence of Muslim voters in local politics.

The event, the group's seventh annual "family and civic picnic," has a dual purpose, organizers say. Through a voter registration drive, they hope to persuade more Muslims to become involved in local elections. In addition, they hope to show the candidates that "we're here, we care, and we do vote," said Shirin Elkoshairi, a spokesman for the Sterling-based All Dulles Area Muslim Society, which has more than 5,000 members.

"[The turnout] definitely shows that candidates feel that Muslims are voting and are a force at the polls," Elkoshairi said.

So far, nothing remarkable in the article.

Inviting In The Enemy

Our State Department is playing the dhimmi and endangering all of us. Requirements for visas have been relaxed so as to allow Wahhabist-trained imams to come into the United States.

From the August 14-20, 2007 edition of Insight Magazine (subscription required):

Hundreds of Islamic fundamentalist clerics have been allowed to enter the United States to take over mosques in major cities. The clerics come from countries such as Egypt, Jordan and Pakistan and have been influenced by al Qaeda. Many are fresh graduates from Saudi-financed Wahhabi seminaries....

According to the article, hundreds of these imams with radical training are already here and teaching in mosques in our major cities, including locations in New York, New Jersey, Michigan, and the Washington, D.C. area. Several of these imams are graduates of Cairo's Al Azhar University, which has ties to Al Qaeda, and of various seminaries in Pakistan. Furthermore, despite warnings from various law-enforcement officials and the National Intelligence Estimate, our State Department continues to pursue this import-the-imams agenda.

More On H.R. 2265: FAQ's

Christine of The Center for Vigilant Freedom has written an important post, about something serious which is afoot in our Congress: H.R. 2265. The bill is being presented as a compassionate attempt to rescue Iraqi refugees. But the bill is much more than that!

Christine's article is brilliant. Make time to read it at Always On Watch.

August 04, 2007

IMPORTANT! H.R. 2265

(All emphases by Always On Watch)

From the Center for Vigilant Freedom, on August 3, 2007:

Grover Norquist’s Wednesday Group, Congressmen Blumenauer and Shays, and Senators Kennedy and Smith are trying to destroy the laws that protect us from terrorists entering the U.S., in the guise of rewriting refugee policy for friendly Iraqi translators. Their efforts are a significant and potentially deadly effort to undercut homeland security efforts.

Actually, there are two bills, one in the House and one in the Senate (H.R. 2265 and S. 1651):

Those bills are some of the most shocking anti-homeland security legislation yet suggested by the Islamist Lobby and their friends in Congress.

[...]

H.R. 2265...[is]...[a] bill that severely damages the rules keeping known terrorists from immigrating to the US.

And Grover Norquist, about whom I wrote some time ago, is pushing hard for this legislation.

You absolutely must read the article at the Center for Vigilant Freedom. Yes, I know that the article is lengthy. Fortify yourself with a cup of coffee or a brandy. Read it! Also read related articles at Refugee Resettlement Watch, especially THIS ONE. Contact your Representative and your Senators. Take action.

Iran Arrests Squirrels!

This is too funny:

Iranian intelligence operatives recently detained over a dozen squirrels found within the nation's borders, claiming the rodents were serving as spies for Western powers determined to undermine the Islamic Republic.

"In recent weeks, intelligence operatives have arrested 14 squirrels within Iran's borders," state-sponsored news agency IRNA reported. "The squirrels were carrying spy gear of foreign agencies, and were stopped before they could act, thanks to the alertness of our intelligence services."

Iranian police commander Esmaeil Ahmadi-Moqadam confirmed the report, saying that a number of squirrels had been caught bearing foreign spy gear within Iran's borders....

Governor Kaine And MAS

Christine of Vigilant Freedom/910 Group Blog recently posted this piece, which delineates Virginia's governor's recent buddying-up with the Muslim American Society. Excerpt:

This last weekend, the Commonwealth of Virginia was signed over to the Muslim Brotherhood, care of the Muslim American Society (MAS). Tim Kaine must be hoping for a VP nomination from Obama - after all, if the Democrat Party presidential ticket needs a Southerner, he’d better prove his dhimmitudiness early in the game.

He gave the keynote speech at the local Muslim American Society Freedom Foundation dinner. A real team player, he’s just following Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) game plan from her Syria visit, and Steny Hoyer’s (D-MD) charm offensive with the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt. With very little effort, his staff could have researched the connections of the MAS to the Muslim Brotherhood and some extreme jihadist doctrine. We have to assume this is a choice, not a mistake....

[...]

The Brotherhood probably thought they wouldn’t get Virginia for another decade or two, but then they hadn’t planned on this level of help from Kaine.

Go read the whole thing.

Springtime For Infidels

I took this photo (unedited) a few weeks ago. This azalea bush sits very near our front porch and is over six feet in height. Don't ask me why it grew so well. I didn't do a think for it except water it. In the spring, the azalea, the wisteria, and the black locust all bloom at the same time, providing a delicate scent to the breezes.

"But, AOW," you ask, "why did you mention infidels in the title of this posting? Springtime comes for all."

Yes, but at this house...

Dell CAIR-ifies

HERE is Dymphna's piece "The Submission Train" on the recent Islamification of the Dell plant in Nashville, Tennessee — with a little help from CAIR in obtaining the employees' reinstatement, back pay, and newly granted religious accommodations, as well as some sensitivity training for Dell Inc.

As Dymphna said in the conclusion of her posting at Gates of Vienna:

So what will they walk out for next time? Toilets that face Mecca? Piglet on a poster? A woman’s ankle exposed where men might — gasp — see it?

There is no end in sight.

Watch for wudu washers, too, I guess.

Also watch for CAIR's booklet "An Employer's Guide to Islamic Religious Practices" — coming soon to a workplace near you. Hustle over to this link from CAIR, and get your copy before supplies run out.

That Time Of Year

For the next few weeks, my priority will be getting out the evaluation sheets (aka "report cards"). I face a Herculean task because each student in each course receives both a numerical average and handwritten comments.

Course grades are inadequate in many respects. The numbers which I diligently enter into the gradebook provide a percentage average, but I also like to consider other criteria, including work effort, originality, and participation in class discussion. The most time-consuming part of the evaluations are the two sections at the bottom: "Further Comments" and "What I like about your work is...." With universities having become overwhelmed by large numbers of applicants and more selective as to which students they admit, I strive to maintain high standards of learning and to be fair to the students at the same time. Finding that balance has never been easy.

Determining grades causes me to lose sleep even this late in my career — my thirty-fifth year of teaching. When I distribute "report cards" to my students, I will see their faces — their expressions of joy and of disappointment. And for several nights after grades go out, I may not sleep as well as usual as I replay those facial expressions in my mind in those few minutes before sleep completely descends. But I will have done my best to be fair. That's the best that any teacher can do.

Last week Sam Huntington of Praesidium Respublicae wrote a commentary entitled "School Bells." Excerpt:

"No Road Signs for Terrorists"

One of the main themes of my blog is exposing the internal Islamification of the United States.  CAIR is a big part of this movement to Islamicize our nation.  Some smaller groups do the same.  Even in the heart of Virginia, where many folks are pretty stodgy and conservative, Islamification is proceeding apace.

In a few days, the 910 Group will lead a demonstration to protest the naming of a road after a terrorist in Charlotte County, Virginia--near Charlottesville, the home campus of the University of Virginia. Thomas Jefferson, who confronted the Muslim Barbary Pirates, must be rolling in his grave over what's been happening in his old stomping grounds.

910b

What? Demonstration

Where? Charlotte County Courthouse

When? February 20, 2007 @ 6:00 P.M.

Lots of information about Sheikh Gilani can be found HERE.

Excerpt about Sheikh Gilani, from this source:

Gilani, the founder of the terrorist organization Jamaat ul Fuqra, has rubbed shoulders with various members of the terrorist groups Hamas and Hezbollah, their mullah backers, and even Osama bin Laden himself. He has trained fighters for the battlefields of Kashmir, Chechnya, and Bosnia. Gilani was in Pakistani custody for the abduction of US journalist Daniel Pearl, but has since been released. Official sources in Pakistan have indicated that Daniel Pearl was attempting to meet Gilani in the days before he disappeared in Karachi. Pakistani police arrested Gilani in Rawalpindi on January 30, 2002 and shifted him to Karachi for questioning. Although he denied any link to the abduction, police also detained several of his colleagues. Consequent to his arrest, he reportedly told his interrogators that he had links with the Pakistani intelligence agencies.

CLICK HERE to read the 910 Group's February, 2007 newsletter, which contains additional information about Sheikh Gilani and about what's been going on in Charlotte County, Virginia.

Here are the details about the 910 Group's demonstration:

“NO ROAD SIGNS FOR TERRORISTS”

Demonstration is at 6:00 PM, before the Board of Supervisors meeting, at Charlotte County Courthouse.

TALKING POINTS:

1. We want Charlotte County to take down the “Sheikh Gilani Lane” sign.

2. Sheikh Gilani is a a known Islamofascist terrorist.

BRING: Camera, food if you don’t want to eat at the restaurant, signs that stay within the talking points.

PRE-DEMONSTRATION GATHERING:

4:30 to 5:00 PM. Mimmos Restaurant

102 David Bruce Ave

Charlotte Court House, VA 23923-3741

Phone (434)-542-4999.

It’s about half a mile west of the Court House on VA40.

A banquet room in back has been booked from about 5:00 PM.

OTHER INFORMATION:

The Board of Supervisors meeting is at 7:00PM. Anyone is entitled to speak up at the Board of Supervisors meeting, even if you are a non-resident. Just please stick to the talking points (take down the sign; Gilani is a terrorist).

The above has been posted at the request of the 910 Group. Read more about the 910 Group.

So far, only a few anti-dhimmitudinal demonstrators have committed to showing up on Tuesday--a sad commentary on the awareness of the community of Charlotte County, Virginia.

Write Your Elected Representatives!

Yesterday, I received. via email, the copy of a lengthy letter by the author of Escape! From an Arab Marriage: Horror Stories of Women Who Fled From Abusive Muslim Husbands. Excerpt from her letter:

"Dear Speaker of the House Pelosi and House Representative Conyers:

"I understand that you are co-sponsoring the “End Racial Profiling Act” and that, among other things, this is prompted by the expulsion of six Muslim imams from an airlines in the United States because of their provocative behavior.

"Do you realize that you are being misdirected by CAIR and other Muslims about what is labeled “racial profiling”? Race has nothing whatsoever to do with the problem. It is the demonstrated and proven behavior patterns that we are trying to bring under control and eliminate. Color and ethnic descent do not matter—but what does matter is the ongoing, demonstrated behavior patterns of violence, murder, and continuous determination of destroy this wonderful, beautiful, and free country and yank it back to the religious nightmare of 6th century Islam.

"Are you aware that Muslim imams are not just religious clerics of their belief system as are the clerics of the various Christian and Buddhist churches? Imams are very much political players..."

Ordinarily, I don't refer readers here to a blog article at my site, but this time I'm going to do so because of the length of the piece. You can, therefore, read the rest HERE.

Ellison: Muslim Activism As Part Of Allah's Plan

[Hat-tip to Jihadi Du Jour]

From this source, on December 25, 2006:

Speaking in Dearborn, Mich., late Sunday night, the first Muslim elected to Congress told a cheering crowd of Muslims they should remain steadfast in their faith and push for justice.

"You can't back down, you can't chicken out, you can't be afraid, you got to have faith in Allah, and you got to stand up and be a real Muslim," Detroit native Keith Ellison said to loud applause.

"Allahu akbar" — God is great — was the reply of many in the crowd....

Ellison said in Dearborn that Muslims can help teach America about justice and equal protection, suggesting that Muslim activists may be part of God's plan. He spoke at the annual convention of two Muslim groups, the Muslim American Society and the Islamic Circle of North America....

Those who found fault with policital activism from evangelical Christians, who often mention "God's plan," remain noticeably silent when it comes to criticizing Ellison's remarks.

The above-cited article also made mention of Virgil Goode, Congressman from Virginia's 5th District:

...Rep. Virgil Goode, a Republican from Virginia, said in a letter to constituents this month that the election of Ellison and other Muslims poses a danger to the country.

Ellison, mouthpiece of CAIR, is doing his part to Islamify the United States.  Virgil Goode is one of the few political voices to speak out against that Islamification.

When Ellison takes office, will we hear cries of "Allahu Akbar!" on the floor of our Congress or from the Congressional gallery?

When Work and Life Intersect

Tom_sawyer_2

Sometimes my grading of students’ compositions actually qualifies as R&R, especially when the course I’m teaching is Creative Writing.

This year’s first creative-writing assignment was “A Further Adventure of Tom Sawyer” — based, of course, upon Mark Twain’s timeless novel The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. With a minimum of instruction from me, all the students in the class were off and running. I got the best batch ever of first-assignments, and even my one slacker submitted a story! Students actually begged to read their stories to the class.

Such moments make me love what I do for a living!

Introducing Brandon T. Stanley

The left hasn't been able to brainwash all those attending major universities.  One individual who sees through the lies propagated by political correctness and multiculturalism is Brandon T. Stanley.

Brandon, who has written No God But Allah, an as-yet unpublished novelized biography of Muhammad, graciously allowed me to publish one of his essays, "A Step Forward":

**snip**

"In one of the most famous, or in recent theological debates rather infamous, events in the Old Testament, Moses is told by Yaweh that Israel will inherit the land of the Canaanites. Yahweh does call for war, he tells the Israelites to show no mercy. Not because Israel is moral, not because it is great, not for Paradise or to avoid Hell, but because the Canaanites were evil. Tradition relates that the Canaanite practiced forms of human sacrifice. Moses died and the scepter passed to Joshua. In a series of brutal campaigns, Joshua subdued and destroyed many of the cities of the Canaanites, depopulating them utterly. Thus was Canaan defeated, and the worship of Baal lessened.

"The tale was largely taken as a Jewish Jihad, as an uprovoked attack upon peaceful peoples. The tales of the perverse nature of Canaanite worship were called slanders and tall tales. That is until, like always, Bible skeptics were hit with archaelogical evidence. Ugarit Epics were found which told tales of perverse deities who tortured men for fun, and of gods whoese care was not for men but for themselves. It told tales of deities, the moon-deity Baal foremost among them, who demanded human blood.

"The Canaanite deities were strikingly similar to today's Allah, to the reincarnation of the terrible Mesopotamian gods. The mode of sacrifce today has a new name, that of Jihad, and the followers still place their children upon altars, albeit ones of a more explosive type...."

CAIR's Recent Whine-o-gram

By now, if one watches the news. one has heard about CAIR's objections to the term "Islamic fascists."  But that's not the only terminology to which CAIR objects.

**snip from CAIR's web site**

"The use of ill-defined hot button terms such as 'Islamic fascists,' 'militant jihadism,' 'Islamic radicalism,' or 'totalitarian Islamic empire,' harms our nation's image and interests worldwide, particularly in the Islamic world...."

**end snip**

Mustn't insult Islam, you know.  **snerk**

How about a little analysis of CAIR's statement?  Read it here and see through the obfuscation.

Welcome to the Liberal church! I am the Reverend Jessica Jackstone and as you may know, I am a God in my own right. You must worship me, after all, I marched from Selma, Alabama. Now, why are only African Americans the only ones giving to the liberal church? Why aren't Asians allowed to be in more commercials? Why do whites get to live in America?

The bible talks about how Jesus marched from city to city. He march into Galilee. He marched into Jerusalem. He marched and marched and marched. Jesus was a Liberal. The Iraqinam Sixties Protest has been so successful in re-living the sixties that people are now marching from East L.A. to Selma, Alabama!

Keeping with the spirit, the Iraqinam Sixties Protest continues to march, through the end of March, from Selma, Alabama to our last destination, Romeo Cat, before we head on back to the extreme religious right belt.

Speaking of cats, you might have heard about Lewis the cat who is facing oppression from the Republicans. Why are pure white cats considered good and wholesome while black cats are considered bad luck? If Lewis was a pure white cat, would the Republicans try to oppress him like they are now doing? Is Lewis being discriminated against because he's half black?

If Lewis was all white, he'd be in the loop, but now he's cat soup and the Republicans are turning up the heat. Doesn't Lewis deserve a fair hearing? If Tookie Williams deserves amnesty, then certainly Lewis the cat does as well. These are like the days when Pontius Pilate sent Jesus to his death instead of forgiving him. We should try to understand why society forced Lewis the cat to attack. What could we have done as a society to help Lewis lash out against the world because he wasn't given a fair shot? I had a dream, that Lewis had self esteem, instead of making people scream, he'd rest by the stream.

Lewis the cat, might have been fat, but poverty was his life and it was full of strife. Society let him down, and left Lewis with a frown. It not so easy when you're a cat that's black or brown.

In announcements, our missionaries in Afghanistan and Iraq have successfully committed 4,601 acts of protest against Bush's Islamic Holocaust. It was a decent week as there were 50 more successful protests. Finally an increase.  We, at the Rainbow Coalition, are concerned about the inequalities that's going on. Why is it always dark skinned people protesting these Bush administration terrorist acts? I don't see any white people tying bombs to their bodies and protesting Bush's Islamic holocaust. Is it racism or lack of understanding? If more caucasians would join the protest, we'd be much farther along in withdrawing troops in Iraq, and there won't be so many hymies in this world. Bush knows that the 19 Islamic peacemakers were merely protecting theirselves from Israel, that's why they struck Hymietown.

Let us bow our head and make a tax payment. Oh Holy Spirit Che Guevara, please put the spirit of giving into the hearts of the caucasians as they are selfish people who don't want to give to people like Lewis the cat. O Holy Spirit Che Guevara, we adore you!

From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.

While the taxplate gets passed around, Harry Belafonte will sing us something with both black heritage and hispanic heritage. It's Jamaican!

Opression, that's what Republicans stand for. Republicans try to deceive, by telling you that they believe that minorities are equal to the caucasians. They expect minorites to be able to work just like caucasians do. They expect that if minorities study just as much as caucasians do, they will get equal grades. Republicans believe that minorities are equal to caucasions.

When Republicans say they believe, they are trying to deceive.

Minorities are inherently inferior to caucasians. Democrats understand this. Democrats are compassionate, Democrats care. We should have stayed out the Bushes.

Democrats want to end discrimination, in the United States Nation, so please make a big donation.

The immigration issue makes me get some tissue. It saddens my heart, to see undocumented workers depart. If migrants leave American dirt, then African-Americans will have to work.

Republicans don't support affirmative action. Why don't Republicans care about the well being of African Americans? Affirmative Action is important because minorities are incapable and too incompetent of playing on a level playing feild with caucasians. If a minoritiy studies as hard as Caucasians, the Caucasians will still get the higher grades.

African-Americans need the easiest jobs because they were born inferior to caucasians. These jobs such as Professional Daytime Talkshow Analyst are jobs provided by the Federal Government. Republicans are uncompassionate because they don't want you to have at home jobs provided by the government. They'd rather have you doing hard physical labor at slave wages such as picking beans and strawberries, or even in construction work.

Republicans will deny and lie, that they want minorities to die. They will put you in the heat because they are creeps.

We are going to start a pass the fast for people of the hispanic orientation. I will start it until I get hungry. Then I will pass the fast to a friend so that I can eat while he continues the fast. Once he's ready to eat, he'll make a phone call to another friend so he can eat while his friend fasts and so on. I hope that you will join this effort because it will help immigrants. You will get a feeling for how the undocumented workers are starving.

This issue is so important that we will also commence a hands across America. Hold somebody's hand in the name of compassion this week. Their plight you will understand when you hold a hand.

The United States government has spent only $500,000 per person to rebuild New Orleans. Why did the government give this money to Louisiana State government instead of to the poor people? Is it because the governor is a caucasian and the New Orleans is a predominantly black city? Is George Bush discriminating against African-Americans because he won't give them enough? Why didn't he fax buses to New Orleans?

Bush let them drown because they were brown. Bush is so bitter, because he's like Hitler.

We also have a spat between two Kats. One is trying to keep African-Americans from voting and the other is trying to overturn the black vote?

That recall Kat is really a rat. She wants to recall the gov, because she has no love. She hates people that are brown because she really is a clown.

Well It looks like I ran out of time while speaking out against caucasians crime. Our budget is so tiny when compared to that hymie. Please make a donation to make a caucasian-slave nation.

Let us bow our heads and don't forget your tax payment. Holy Spirit Che Guevara, please give us the power to fight the Republicans from forcing African-Americans from doing hard physical labor. A Firm Foundation?

Or shifting sands?

Sunday School kids'll recall the song about the foolish man and the wise man taken from the parable by a carpenter from Nazareth. Foolish man? Built his house upon a foundation of sand and was naturally washed away in the first flood. The wise man built on a solid bedrock foundation and his house withstood the floods.

Keep that in mind as you read this extract from a Stop the ACLU post on Antonin Scalia's response to one of the central strategies of the ACLU:

Associate Justice of the United States Supreme Court Antonin Scalia was in Puerto Rico at the invitation of the Federalist Society for Law and Public Policy Studies where he made a few comments on "Originalism". Which is a term... descriptive of Strict Constructionism. Scalia does have a philosophy; it's called originalism. That's what prevents him from doing the things he would like to do. According to his judicial philosophy, he said, there can be no room for personal, political or religious beliefs.Scalia criticized those who believe in what he called the "living Constitution.

"That's the argument of flexibility and it goes something like this: The Constitution is over 200 years old and societies change. It has to change with society, like a living organism, or it will become brittle and break. But you would have to be an idiot to believe that. The Constitution is not a living organism, it is a legal document. It says something and doesn't say other things."

Wasms

(Romeocat is graciously allowing me to feed my blogging addiction here while Blogger is down for an extended "half hour" maintenance. *heh*)

Communism, socialism, liberalism, pragmatism, utilitarianism and yes, even conservatism all inevitably wreck themselves upon the rock of Unintended Consequences, and their brightest ideals become "wasms."

The reason why the highest ideals and practical decisions of human wisdom inevitably fail is because we can only guess at their outcomes. Pragmatism is perhaps the most glaring failure, because future events inevitably prove that our pragmatic choices depended upon making choices to create a future we cannot predict.

Better simply "...to do justice, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with [our] God."

Ah, but being just is hard when the world abhors justice. Being merciful is difficult even when we embrace justice (and impossible without justice). And humility is impossible for those who reject both justice and true mercy.

Silly Christmas Songs

One of the best parody song writers out there is Bob Rivers, a DJ out of Seattle.  Unlike Weird Al, the most well known parodist working, Bob Rivers does not do all of his own stuff but rather has others perform the materiel for him. One of his main collaborators also works with Cletus T. Judd, the one and only country parodist anyone outside of hardcore fans of parody has ever heard about.

Why do I bring up such an obscure subject?  Because I am a huge fan of parody songs, and some of the best parody songs are Christmas song parodies.  ONe of my favorites is a parody of God Rest Ye, Merry Gentlemen.  (sidenote, the title is "God Rest Ye, Merry Gentlemen" as opposed to "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen", and you will note the  addition of an all important comma).

Enjoy.

The restroom door said gentlemen
So I just walked inside
I took two steps and realized
I'd been taken for a ride
I heard high voices turned and found
The place was occupied
By two nuns, three old ladies and a nurse
What could be worse
Than two nuns, three old ladies and a nurse?

The restroom door said gentlemen
It must have been a gag
As soon as I walked in there
I ran into some old hag
She sprayed me with a can of mace
And smacked me with her bag
I could tell this just wouldn't be my day
What can I say?
It just wasn't turning out to be my day.

The restroom door said gentlemen
And I would like to find
The crummy little creep who had the nerve
To switch the signs
'Cause I got two black eyes
And one high heel up my behind
Now I can't sit with comfort and joy
Boy oh boy
No I'll never sit with comfort and joy

Surrendering Christmas

Why is the move to secularize Christmas entirely out of the public arena going so well for the allies of Islamic jihad (ACLU, the usual suspects among the Loony Left Moonbat Brigade, the Mass Media Podpeople's Army, et al)?

Because all too many Christians have no faith at all, just a "country club" association with the fashoinable church du jour or a tepid connection to a weak-kneed "traditional values" concept. Witness:

Megachurches cancel services on Christmas

Huh?!? Yep "Churches" (big, successful, ever more secular and image/marketing-conscious Willow Creek prominently featured) are backpedaling on... Christmas.

"This is a consumer mentality at work: 'Let's not impose the church on people. Let's not make church in any way inconvenient,' " said David Wells, professor of history and systematic theology at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Hamilton, Mass. "I think what this does is feed into the individualism that is found throughout American culture, where everyone does their own thing."

I think perhaps some of these churches have lost sight of some central principles.

"I beg you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, [which is] your reasonable service. And do not conform to this world: but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what [is] that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." Romans 12: 1-2

Or, if reading from their Bibles is too taxing, pperhaps counsel in a book written in the popular vein might help...

Brothers_we_are_not_professionals
Brothers, We Are Not Professionals: A Plea to Pastors for Radical Ministry

Contra to the "conform to the secular world" ideas of "marketing the Gospel" and "targeting and audience" that leads to... canceling a Sunday service because... becuase it's on Christmas day???—Piper offers this model:

"We pastors are being killed by the professionalizing of the pastoral ministry. . . professionalism has nothing to do with the essence and heart of the Christian ministry. The more professional we long to be, the more spiritual death we will leave in our wake. For there is no professional childlikeness, there is no professional tenderheartedness. There is no professional panting after God."

Nah. They'd probably need the video. "Books are too haaaaard."

*sigh*

Yep. The more Christians—churches—try to emulate pagans, the more the pagans win. "Here, let me put just a drop of poison in that glass of milk. How about another drop? More?"

Nah, it's not because the FEC or some other government weenie bureaucraps might dump on ya that everyone who's an "issues" blogger might have to cut way back or stop. It's not even because NZ Bear might decide every link to Instapundit is worth 10 (or 100) links to anyone else (heh--just kidding Bear :-). No, It's because this guy is covering every single topic he touches better than anyone else.

Yep. Anyone.

In fact, linking to him in such a way as to open the link in a new window is probably an exercise in futility. You'll click the link, read posts like this one and never come back [to third world county, that is NOBODY would ever desert R'Cat! :-) ].

Oh. Wah.

Not that I'd feel the pain, cos if you did click on over there and get lost in the wealth of good blog and never come back here [to third world county] for my mediocre* stuff, I'd feel that I'd served you well and be pleased.

Seriously: that's one fine blog. I'd love for you to come back, but if I lose your readership [at third world county, that is] to someone like this, I'll feel that the service I've done you was well worth it.

Now that I've got that outa my system (and do go for a visit there!), when can we see R'Cat back on her regular blogation here? :-)

*N.B. Hey! "mediocre" ain't but half bad, ya know! ;-)

The Store Everyone Loves To hate

Some people have really lost their minds and it's starting to annoy me. One group is now in the business of promoting biased films and "documentaries" about Wal-Mart. The store everyone loves to hate. While Wal-Mart may have some questionable tactics concerning employees (and none of the "tactics" have been proven in any court)-it is the epitome of American capitalism...something that is very important to the ecomomy. I made a vow a couple months ago-to shop at the local Wal-Mart in PROTEST against all the unions trying to get in...in PROTEST of all the liberal/socialists groups who are insisting that employees are treated badly, are underpaid and overworked. I personally know many and have yet to hear one story about any of this. Take any successful business that makes a good profit-the liberals will bash it to no end.
Everyone has seen Wal-Mart's lavish television commercials, but have you ever wondered why Wal-Mart spends so much money trying to convince you it cares about your family, your community, and even its own employees? What is it hiding? WAL-MART: The High Cost of Low Price takes you behind the glitz and into the real lives of workers and their families, business owners and their communities, in an extraordinary journey that will challenge the way you think, feel... and shop.
You know, the last time I looked America was a free country. I've said it before and will say it again. No one forces anyone to work at Wal-Mart. People chose to do this. Most of the employees want to work part time; most don't need benefits because they're other half holds down the job that pays for those...Why can't these socialist groups cannot admit this? Why do they continue to portray Wal-Mart (and soon, other retail chains) in such bad light is my big question. If we allow them to bash Wal-Mart right into the ground...we are allowing them to bash every business that makes money, every American enterprise and every American's dream. Everyone wants to make money. Every business upstart is about making MONEY. Liberals love money- we see how they spend it on stupid and useless programs for the poor and needy...yet the very stores the poor and needy can afford to shop at-are being attacked. This "movie" is being played everywhere. The list is exhaustive and I'm planning to go see it, along with many of my friends. we have talked about this and plan to make this into a protest event...PROTESTING the movie and the lies it tells. Dammit. The web site of the group promoting this "movie" is full of advice about how to ruin local stores and the morale of the people who work for them...in true liberal fashion it really comes across as the people (like you and me) are too DUMB to know any better, it's up to US to educate them...to the evilness of Wal-Mart. Give me a break. Cross Posted @ ARS

Americans For Legal Immigration

Last week I put out information about TEAM AMERICA, a PAC that is seeking to make changes with our Illegal Immigration policies. This week another really good site is being highlighted here. I like how this site is set up...and there is A LOT of information available here, especially if you're looking for news. The message boards seem very friendly and contain LOTS of postings about every possible topic related to this stuff. American For Legal Immigration
PLATFORM: ALIPAC supporters have a diverse range of opinions, yet we are united in the belief that more should be done to reduce illegal immigration. ALIPAC supports those that legally immigrate, but we DO NOT support any amnesty, visa expansion, or "Guest Worker" program designed to reward illegal aliens or legalize their presence in the US. America is a land of generous and caring people, but our hospitality and values are being strained and abused by those who are willing to break the law and take our jobs and our tax dollars. America's illegal alien population will begin to shrink instead of grow if we support candidates that will reflect the will of the vast majority of American citizens. FOUR POINT PLATFORM: "Simply enforce our existing immigration laws!" 1. Secure Our Borders 2. Crack down on employers that intentionally hire illegals 3. Remove incentives and rewards to illegals such as licenses, welfare, and other taxpayer benefits 4. Enforce our existing laws and deport illegal aliens when convicted of crimes or detected during routine law enforcement activities Many ALIPAC supporters also believe --Congress should make English the official language of America! --State and Local police should help enforce immigration laws!
Mission Statement:
Americans for Legal Immigration (ALI-PAC) has formed to address the disparity between the public's desire for more control of illegal immigration and the actions of lawmakers. Varied polls indicate that over 75% of America's legal citizens want more done to control illegal immigration, yet the elected officials who are willing to address this concern constitute a minority of members in the US Congress and Senate at this time. This must change. Even more alarming is the disparity between our current laws and what is actually happening in the country. Illegal immigration is exactly as the title implies; it's illegal. If three fourths of America's legal citizens want illegal immigration curtailed and laws are in place to facilitate their wishes through a constitutional democracy, then why is America experiencing the largest population increase through illegal immigration in our history?
...there is more This site offers membership, message boards, an email list, news from Congress on topics related to Illegal Immigration; and just about every topic you can imagine. Go check it out. I spent an hour there and learned lots, and got pissed off reading many news stories I hadn't heard before. This site helps bring on a perspective I didn't have before. Cross Posted @ ARS

Voter fraud or inability to vote

Voting ID's??? I guess so. I'm not so sure this is what is needed to fix the problems with elections though. It seems like a bandaid approach. They need to clean up the scum that lies beneath-the local polititians who take "matters into their own hands" (usually Democrats).
WASHINGTON --A commission seeking to restore confidence in the country's election system gave President Bush proposals on Monday calling for improved voter registration lists and requiring photo IDs that voters could get for free. Former President Carter noted that a commission he headed with former President Ford tried to resolve election problems after the 2000 election, but added "there are still some remaining problems to be solved." He said Bush "received it very well, though he can certainly speak for himself." The commission's recommendations could finally resolve a long-standing debate about what causes the most problems with elections -- voter fraud or inability to vote, said former Secretary of State James Baker, who chairs the commission with Carter. "We think this report will go a long way to ending the sterile debate in our politics between ballot integrity and ballot access," Baker said outside the White House after their meeting with Bush. Requiring photo IDs is one of the most important and most difficult of the recommendations, Carter said. "We addressed this with a great deal of hesitancy," Carter said, adding that "24 states already require photo ID and 12 others are considering it." Carter said a national approach would prevent states from putting in laws that are discriminatory.
It's the last thing we need though. How much of a hassle will it be to get one? What kind of paperwork will be needed to get it? Will it become so cumbersome that it turns people off (and therefore away from voting?) And who is going to pay for this? (Me. And everyone else who pays taxes.)
Carter and Baker cited the loss of confidence in elections in the report, which they are also delivering to Congress. "While we do not face a crisis today, we need to address the problems of our electoral system," they said.
I'll tell them why people lost confidence. The sore ass losers who contested election results- AKA Al Gore. That whole episode created a new, fashionable response to elections. If you lose, it's not because you didn't get enough votes...NO...it's because your opponent shafted the vote. Gimme a break.
Among the commission's recommendations: --Congress should pass a law requiring voter-verifiable paper audit trails on all electronic voting machines. --States should require voters to present photo IDs and offer free photo IDs to those who don't have drivers' licenses. --All "legitimate domestic and international election observers" should be granted unrestricted access to the election process, within the rules of the election. --News organizations should voluntarily refrain from projecting any presidential election results in any state until all polls have closed in all states but Alaska and Hawaii. --States should establish uniform procedures for the counting of provisional ballots, which voters can use when there are questions about their registration.
They're going out of their way to complicate this process. Cross Posted @ ARS

Project VALOUR IT

A call for help....from Kathleen at The Middle Ground, a very worthy project:

Hello friends, family and fellow bloggers, I'm emailing you to let you know about a new project for wounded soldiers through that fantastic organization Soliders' Angels and ask for your assistance. The new project is called Project VALOUR IT (Voice Activated Laptops for OUR Injured Troops). This project is to help get laptops with voice activated software to our wounded troops recuperating at military hospitals. From Soldiers' Angels: "Project Valour IT, in memory of SFC William V. Ziegenfuss, provides voice-controlled software and laptop computers to wounded Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines recovering from hand and arm injuries or amputations at major military medical centers. Operating laptops by speaking into a microphone, our wounded heroes are able to send and receive messages from friends and loved ones, surf the 'Net, and communicate with buddies still in the field without having to press a key or move a mouse. The experience of CPT Charles "Chuck" Ziegenfuss, a partner in the project who suffered hand wounds while serving in Iraq, illustrates how important this voice-controlled software can be to a wounded servicemember's recovery."

To find out how you can help, please go visit Kathleen for more details. I work with patients who use the voice activated laptop systems...it's amazing what can be done and it's another way to say THANK YOU to the troops. Debris detected on Discovery launch

Let’s hope this turns out to be nothing:

Space Shuttle Discovery’s launch:

…Two chase planes and more than 100 cameras documented the ascent from every possible angle to capture any sign of flying debris of the sort that doomed the last flight. Some two hours later, after Discovery had settled into orbit, Discovery commander Eileen Collins radioed back: “We know that the folks back on the planet Earth are just feeling great right now, and our thanks to everybody for all the super work that’s been done over the past 2 1/2 years to get us flying again.”

Mission Control replied by promising to bring the astronauts home safely.

Video showed what appeared to be a large piece of debris flying off the external fuel tank two minutes into the flight. The object did not seem to hit the orbiter. Footage also showed what might have been at least two light-colored objects flying off Discovery as the shuttle cleared the launch pad.

Deputy shuttle program manager Wayne Hale raised the possibility that the light-colored objects were harmless pieces of paper that protect Discovery’s thrusters before launch. But he insisted it was too soon to say what the cameras may have picked up, and he gave assurances the multitude of images will be examined frame by frame in the coming hours and days… Yahoo News

Let’s hope Hale’s “harmless pieces of paper” were indeed all the “debris” was. No one wants another Columbia.

He probably can't even spell "hypocrisy"

One song Jean Fraud sKerry (AKA John F Kerry) won't be singing...

Remember Blazing Saddles... Madeline Kahn singing "I'm Tired with that slightly off-key Sprechstimme style"? The lyrics include a refrain I wish Jean Fraud sKerry could learn to sing...

I'm tired, Tired of playing the game Ain't it a crying shame I'm so tired ...I'm exhausted

Tired, tired of playing the game
Ain't it a crying shame
I'm so tired

Well, lying through his teeth, stalling, backtracking, flip-flopping and playing the double- triple- quadruple-standards game is just not something this poltroon seems to tire of.
